my print screen doesn't work...

I'm trying to use the print screen button but it's not working.

I use the button combinations people suggested for print screening like ctrl-prnt sc or alt-prnt sc or shift-prnt sc.

I try to press ctrl and v to make the picture I take show up in microsoft word or paint and nothing happens. What does show up is the last random thing I copied from a sentence earlier in the day.

I have internet explorer.

Edit: I fixed my own problem, needed to press the function key.
