1) you don't have any on your car, right? god I hope not.

2) what are some you see around?

Fayetteville is in an interesting position. Washington County is um, well, it's very redneck, very farmtown. In fact, for a long time, the university was the only thing it had going for it. Like I mean, the county fair is still pretty damn podunk.

So, there are cars with their bumpers filled with "JESUS AND A GUN" or whatever. Lots of NRA and 'BUSH 2000'.

However, it is also a college town. One of the most predominant stickers is 'Keep Fayetteville Funky' which refers to some musical act that I have yet to encounter. This occurs on 1/30 cars, it seems like.

Another popular sticker is one that says "COEXIST" with each letter shaped as a religious symbol.

The funniest one I've seen was someone that lived in my dorm last year, as it was always parked in the parking lot. It read something like

That was Zen. This is Tao.

Then around my apartment complex, there are a handful of stickers imploring us to reduce air pollution or whatever.

man, i don't even spend that much time driving, and I can recall all of these. I guess bumper stickers are more effective at being memorable than I thought.

My dad had people at his work make one for him that said "If you believe in the Force, honk my horn."

The most popular bumper sticker seems to be the Jesus Fish

Aw, Washington. Here we have a mad combination of rednecks and liberal feminists. It's great!

"THE ONLY BUSH I LIKE IS MY OWN"
"JESUS IS LORD"
"SAVE THE WOLVES, CALL YOUR TAXIDERMIST"
"I <3 TUPPERWARE"

Good times.

I have one on my car that says "If you're gonna ride my ass, at least pull my hair". It's faded though :(

'Keep Fayetteville Funky' is another version of what started as the 'Keep Austin Weird' campaign. Lots of college towns have them, including Waco ('Wacko'), but they're all based on what Austin did. Little to do with any musical act. :p

Uh, I have an Obama sticker on my car. It got my gas tank door handle keyed, I'm pretty sure.

KB, that may be, but it doesn't explain the Fayetteville Funk Ensemble :)

I like bumper stickers, but if I ever put one on my car, my dad would murder me out on the lawn until the grass turns red with my blood, because he says they're filth and ruin a car.

He's a mechanic of all sorts of things, you see. He loves machines of any kind, so he views bumper stickers as a defilement.

Being raised in that way, I'd be VERY hesitant to put one on any car I own, even when I move out permanently.

I see a lot of Jesus and Darwin fish. I see an occasional "OBAMA: ONE BIG ASS MISTAKE AMERICA" sticker, because we do have some of those people in our town.

I don't really enjoy bumper stickers that scream out religious affiliation, because I think it's kind of rude to promote religious belief of any sort in public. That's just my personal belief.

Most of the ones I see around here are funny sort of Mom-ish humor stickers, and ones for autism, which is one of the only kinds I would put on my car. Mostly because I have a lot of family with autistic spectrum disorders, but partly because no one ever cuts off someone with a bumper sticker for a medical condition or disorder.

If you do, you are the bane of the driving world, it seems. :greenie:

EDIT: Oh! We also have a lot of "WOW" bumperstickers. Not for the game, but for "Whip'em Out Wednesdays" for when a radio show would implore women to flash their own personal airbags out of the window. I've never seen any women do this, myself. I'd probably be the one who'd witness some fat housewife do it with saggy ones. :(

J's confidant Nelson has this on his auto. He's more of a still-crazy-after-all-these-years ex-hippie than a college kid, though.

I saw one that said "stop reading this :bou::bou::bou::bou: and pay attention to the road"

Of course I wasn't the one driving, you'd be surprised at how hard that can be when you don't have opposible thumbs.

Don't bypass the swear filters, please.
