I've gotta be up Wednesday so I don't know how much I'll see. Maybe I'll go outside and scope out the skies before I go to bed.

Leonids, right?

wait, no that's november. Perseids.

The last time I caught the perseids was about four years ago, but it was gorgeous. About 4AM with a beautiful moon. The sky was purple.

Do meteor showers happen all night? o.o Or is it a, you have to catch it at this moment sorta thing?

They go on for a couple of days, but tonight is when we will pass through the thickest part of it. Basically there is space junk floating around and our orbit passes through it each year. The meteors show up when they hit the earth's atmosphere and burn up.

It should be happening throughout the night, though there will be spurts of activity.

Saw this on the news, unfortunatly I highly doubt i'll be able to see it because it'll be in the middle of the day for us.

Crimson, see my post. They're not something you switch on or off :)

I was refering to the fact that I highly doubt it would be visible in daylight.

Then again, i've never seen a Meteor Shower.

Okay, that was so not as cool as I hoped it would be. xD

I was outside for about half an hour. I think I saw one out of the corner of my eye, but I didn't get a good look at any falling meteors.

I'm now swelling up in about 5 different places and unbelievably itchy because I'm allergic to most mosquito bites. :p

I saw the leonids a few years back, that was pretty amazing. There were continuous streaks appearing across the sky for quite some time, it was well worth getting up at 3am :D

You'd think someone as terrified of bugs as you would use bug spray more often.

I saw a lunar eclipse a few months back by accident! I watched it for ages and then looked it up on the interbuttz. I felt lucky. It was very pretty.

My brother and I were trying to see them, but it was so damn misty and cloudy, and the stupid Gibbous moon was bright. But obviously we can't just tell the moon to go away. :(

Being in the middle of nowhere had it's benefits. The sky was clear too! I sat outside wrapped in a blanket on my back porch for over an hour. Then I got too cold and went inside.

It was cool! I mean I didn't see a lot of them but I did see quite a few. I think if I had stayed out there longer I'd have seen more but I was getting too cold. To make it seem more chill and less boring I was listening to some Deathcab for cutie :P

I'm sure i'd have had more fun if I wasn't sitting out there alone. :P

11 was when I checked out the solar eclipse in Britain. And by checked out, I mean noticed the clouds went slightly darker and the birds stopped talking.

I remember that eclipse. It only looked like it was about to rain.
