i think it would hvae been more fitting for Vincent to have used a spear and been the dragoon and Cid could had guns, he's southern after all!!

plus it would have meant that dirge of cerberus would never have existed or at least een much better cuase Cid was the main man

ya...that might have not worked very well...

but giving cid a pitch fork would have :p. Plus I see Vincent using a gun as symbolic. he has almost ultimate close-range power within him that he is ashamed of (chaos), and would rather use long-range gun-fighting (that he is skilled at) over those powers.
