New slim ps3 not backward compatible

Most of you have probably heard that the ps3 is getting a major price cut (down to $299). However a major drawback of it is that it will not be able to play ps2 and ps1 games.

That only says it's not BC with PS2 games, which is pretty much status quo anymore. PS1 BC has not been confirmed as removed and should have no reason to be removed since it's all software.
