Seeing as the other thread has dropped off the front page I thought I'd post two little tidbits here.
1) We have two gameplay trailers
Part I (http://www.gametrailers.com/video/japanese-battle-valkyria-chronicles/55807)
Part II (http://www.gametrailers.com/video/japanese-battle-valkyria-chronicles/55806)
2) This game is coming to the West next summmer!

Regarding the trailers, I've seen some people complain about the graphics.
Which makes me think that I'm crazy now, because I was shocked at just how close they were able to get to the PS3 version. The presentation was one of the stand-out aspects of the original game and I'm overly excited that they suceeded in bringing it to mobile, PSP form. The gameplay appears to be there much the same.
Honestly this looks like a new trend where many developers are pushing the limits of the PSP, namely with Gran Turismo, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, and Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines. Whether gameplay can follow as well (especially for Metal Gear) appears to be seen, but I can say personally that Gran Turismo, Motorstorm: Arctic Edge, Little Big Planet and SOCOM: Fireteam Bravo 3 accomplished both these goals (graphics and gameplay) in spades.
