The color violet is the royal color of antiquity. Using dyes made from mollusks, the ancients robed their rulers in these gorgous hues.
In the early 20th century, Crayola with one small decision, thrust this color out of the hands of monarchs everywhere, and into the hands of even the tiniest child of 4 or 4. They gave this color a new name that these tiny royals could wrap their lips around, "purple."
For my part, Purple, Violet, whatever is my favorite color. It is the edge of our spectral sight, fading dangerously into the ultraviolet. It is best friends with both Red and Indigo, the two who are most and least similar in spirit.
How could it be that our rainbow, our bands of light could come full circle, form a color wheel, link the shortest wavelengths to the longest?
Violet is the answer. Violet is the color of dignity, diplomacy, and reconciliation.
Violet is the color of aubergines, plums, grapes, violets, morning glories, and the delicate mollusks who reside in the sea. The mollusks are humble, hiding their true heritege inside of themselves, rarely displaying their colors to the shame of their fellow sea-dwellers. These children of Neptune, even to the smallest clam, display the grace and poise that we must all emulate if we wish to follow in their purple ways.
The moogle is the greatest of all Final Fantasy creatures because their wings are purple.
