So who has checked it out and what are your early impressions?
I really love the use of traditional MGS cutscenes combined with the Portable Ops/ Graphic Novel art work for the dialogue and scenes. Gives it this really cool psychedelic feel.
The controls are a little weird (buttons to work the camera? D-Pad for inventory and crouching movement?) but I was surprised to see how quickly I adapted to them. I wish I could understand the Japanese dialogue better, if not to understand the plot more but to at least get more out of the nifty (if long winded) tutorial mode. I feel like I'm missing out on the CQC.
The levels are short but pretty fun and the controls feel pretty smooth once you get used to them even if the game sometimes feels like MGS4 and makes "running and gunning" through levels the acceptable way out.
It inspired me to order Portable Ops online (game is damn near impossible to find out here for some reason.) and I'm definetly looking forward to the honorary Metal Gear Solid 5 :D
