Apparently people used to eat tomatoes with sugar back in the middle-ages, so the other day I tried it out of curiosity.. and it was actually very good.

What weird or abnormal food combos do you like?

My girlfriend likes peanut butter and pickle sandwiches.

I think she's a demon.

Sugar cuts through the natural acidity of tomatoes. My mom used to add a spoonful of sugar to her tomato sauces to mask some of the acidity. Adding onions to a tomato sauce can do the same thing since onions have a natural sweetness.

As for weird food combos. I really really like toasted/salted seaweed with any sort of sweet fruit, watermelon, strawberries, peaches, etc. It's all about contrasting flavors, the sweet and the salty.

I wonder what strawberries smothered in peanut butter taste like.

I know it's not really a food, yet I had a drink that was basically half-melted Ice Cream mixed with a lot of sugar. It tasted great, though that may have just been because all I could taste was sugar...

Chicken Nuggets and Ice Cream is probably the nicest weird food combination I've ever had.

Take a strawberry, dip it in sour cream, then dip that in brown sugar. It is AWESOME.

Sugared tomatoes are yum. My mom used to make them for me when I was young. ^^ They're like candy fruits.

Exactly.

I know that sugar goes in tomato sauce, but sugar on a fresh cut tomato is different. More like candy fruits like Jojee said.

I like mixing Breine with Angel Delight.

When spoken out loud, that sounds disgusting because it actually sounds like brain.

That actually sounds like it could be quite nice, I'd give it ago.

It's odd, usually I'm against these weird food combinations, but the other day I combined the two most awesome things in the world and had some cheese and chocolate. It wasn't bad. I'd love to find some cheese factory that would actually make the proper stuff

I only discovered honey and mustard sauce last year. Not only do I think it's smurfing weird, but I really hate mustard. As it turns out, honey and mustard sause is awesome, especially with chicken.

I am having several nerdy friends over to play vidya games on the weekend so I will dazzle them with my comboing skills. I think I may add sauces to most things. Soy sauce might be the go this time.

I'm sure we'll be plenty dazzled.
Careful with soy sauce, it's runny, as I'll probably remind you...

You should experiment with Hot mustard, Wasabi, Chilli powder and garlic, purely for the lulz.

I don't think we have any of those but I'll have some Tabasco sauce for your entertainment.

I wanted some sort of super heat death, Tabasco seems dull in comparison :(
