Note: The page linked is SFW and always will be. Other pages may not be so safe, like the gallery. Also, this is pretty much copy pasta from a post last year elsewhere. And I put in GC because I hope people can be mature.

Apparently there exists such a thing as a [Boobie-Thon] (http://www.boobiethon.com/). It goes on from October 1st (that's now) through October 7th (that's later). The idea: you fight cancer by looking at breasts (and donating money to charity).

How it works is that women take shots of their breasts, both covered and uncovered, and submit them to the site. The shots get uploaded later and put into two different galleries. Then the viewers, male pigs and butch lasses alike, get to ogle covered breasts and if we really like those boobs, we "donate" money ($50+) to see the bared ones. And by that I mean we pay because we are obviously getting something in return.

The first three-hundred fifty-nine bucks goes towards something about [Bloggers Helping Bloggers] (http://www.tampatantrum.com/leftovers/003168.html) and that sounds cool, but the main dish is the [Susan G. Komen for the Cure] (http://www.komen.org/) organization, the largest breast cancer charity in the United States, and that is where the majority of the proceeds go. So all in all it seems pretty good, a noble cause, and all that jazz. Contribute to an emergency fund to help out unfortunate bloggers and know that the greater share of it all goes towards researching a cure for breast cancer. You could do a bleeding heart a world of good.

So, appreciators of breasts, I ask you go peruse the site when you are in a position to do so, buy access to the more risque gallery, and feel good about what you did, you leches. Possessors of such natural wonders, I suggest you find some risque lingerie, snap a few pictures in private, and send them off to help fight breast cancer.

Part of me thinks, "They might as well, I guess," and part of me thinks, "This is tasteless and weird."

Sounds like a rather crass way to raise 'awareness' of a disease that can quite easily lead to losing a breast altogether.

I much prefer the local approach - the pink ribbon fundraiser. Donate for a pink ribbon, and wear it to show support for the cause, which is accompanied by a staunch and widespread public information campaign. The whole 'coloured ribbon' thing is perhaps a bit hackneyed, but it's visible and recognisable, as well as a good money-spinner for the charities that need help.

Then for male illnesses like prostate cancer, which traditionally suffer from a lack of awareness, there's Movember (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Movember), which can lead to some hideously bad-taste facial hair - but it always gets people talking openly about stuff that needs talking about.

Hey, I dont' think $50,000 is nothing to sneeze at, even if it has been over seven years.

I would not pay money to see the majority of those tits.

Am I the only one who thinks this is a pretty hilarious and a good idea? The amount of camwhores I know who absolutely love doing this - there are going to be a lot of boobs there. And I know there are a lot of people who enjoy perving all over them. It all seems to be in good humour, and it could make a pretty decent amount. Everyone who likes this sort of thing wins!

this gallery kind of looks like myspace

also male pigs would never pay $50 for porn when they can get it for free (I would know)

This is the way I prefer too, we also get delicious Strawberry Tim Tams.

Would be a sharper idea if it already weren't way too easy to find boobs online. Better ones, too.
