I hate that stupid cat. I've got my groove on fighting the dragons for mad experience and then that spaz comes along and totally kills my buzz. :aimmad:

Yeaaah, Gimme cats kind of a dick. I hit him, and he smufing pummels with me with SMURFIN' COMETS...those dragons are tough. It's worth the fight though, good EXP. and girl. I read in the strategy guide (If not, somewhere online..) that dagerero (however you spell it) is a great training spot. I wonder if there are any Gimme cat cosplayers...or Gimme cat hentai.....;| what an odd thing to think about... some one actually went through the trouble to make a Gimme cat hat Gimme Cat hat by ~malytwotails on deviantART (http://malytwotails.deviantart.com/art/Gimme-Cat-hat-6385707) ;|......wow

Gimme Cats are a pain, which is why when I fight Grand Dragons I do it on Popos Heights (plateau above Gizamaluke's Grotto) where you can fight the dragons exclusively—as long as you keep out of the forest and the tiny, negligible piece of land jutting out from the main plateau.

Oh yeah. Popos Heights is pretty much the best place for training. You know the Moogle couple in Gizmaluke Grotto? The ladder there? Go up it. That's Popos Heights, and it's Grand Dragon central. Just stay out of the grass or you get a Garuda, and they're annoying.

Conversely, for ages I thought that Popos Heights was the only place you could get Grand Dragons!

It was about my fourth or fifth playthrough when I found Daguerreo for the first time.
No kidding.

I like 'em, although I feel for the poor sap that gets duped into giving it a Diamond, thinking it's one of the friendly sidequest monsters. That cap looks pretty swizz, too...I guess there's really only one way to skin a cat. :D

I like FFIX's 'bonus monsters'. From Gimmie Cat to the friendly beasts, and even Ragtime Mouse's quiz (what the hell kind of mouse is that thing anyway?), they helped to add to the idea that not every wild animal in this world is simply a mindless, bloodthirsty killer.

Hell, Grand Dragons are all over the place, but I believe Popos Heights is the only place you can fight them without interruptions from other enemies.
And agreed with Big D, to be somewhat more on topic. Ragtime Mouse is pretty much a "friendly" Agares. Random details like that are interesting to me.
I noticed that FF has named some of there monsters after actual demons. Agares is a demon, Behemoth, etc.

I found it on my first playthrough, but admittedly I stumbled on it completely by accident. Great location anyway, and love the music.
The Ragtime Mouse thing is fun, and it gives an extra point to the random bits of info you see on signs etc throughout the game.

I like the sidequests in FFIX as they help to flesh out the world and add to the character of the game. The Gimme Cat though was annoying, the first time I fought it I thought it was a friendly monster, luckily I'd saved right before the fight so it was merely annoyingyet when I found out after encountering it a second time it gives 1 exp I developed a hatred for that encounter!

The first time I played the game I assumed they weren't one of the friendly monsters because they're rude. And rude monsters aren't allowed to live when I play. :colbert:
Quina ate it once and I never want to see the monster again ^^

CHRIST-HAMS reminds me of Yans. Adorable, but holy Christ they kick ass.
