Where am I, what am I doing?

Kind of an odd request here, hoping someone real familiar with the game can help me out.

So I'm coming back to FF8 after a long time off and I have no idea where I am at in the game and what I should be doing.

Here's my info:
I'm somewhere on disc two of the game in the PC version. I would normally consult a walkthrough but they all go by the Playstation version, which is divided up differently among discs.

Party:
Selphie, Squall, Irvine
Everyone is level 41 (except Squall who is 71)
and I'm in Balamb - Alcauld Plains

Any ideas?
appreciate any help, I really don't want to start a new game, cause I'm stubborn :D

The PC version is 100% identical to PSX in terms of storyline and gameplay.

A walkthrough would be just as valid on the PC.

Board the floating Balamb Garden and press triangle to control Squall. Talk to the people on the bridge and tell us what they say, if you don't figure it out yourself.

Maybe you are looking for the white SEED ship or maybe the orphanage. Either way, listen to the poster before me and board the ship and try going south to the Cetra region(The region with lots of rock). :bigsmile:

You do know, that both of the things you've mentioned are done on the third, not the second CD, do you?

Edit: Or am I wrong on the CD numbers on PC version?

Finding the White SeeD ship the first time is the 2nd disk, as is the orphanage.

yeah, you see the white seed ship for the first time on 2nd disc, but you look for it on 3rd. you're right about the orphanage, though. i mixed it up with all the events in it in 3rd disc (as you aren't able to enter it on 2nd).

Well, since I don't ever like to be wrong, time to pull out my old destroyed strategy guide!

The first time you go to the orphanage is right before the fight with galbadia garden, in the 2nd disk...

Argggg, dammit, you're right. The white SeeD ship is literally almost the first thing you do in disk 3:( Ah well, at least I know now and knowing is half the battle

Anyway, to be helpful...

You have Selphie, so you must have already done the Fisherman's thingy, and you now have full control over Balamb Garden. The only situations left in the 2nd disk are to visit Balamb, find Trabia Garden(directly after you save balamb), go to the orphanage(right after the horrible basketball court scene), or attack Galbadia Garden(directly after the orphanage scene)
