THIS IS NOT A THREAD ABOUT WHICH CHARACTERS SHOULD BE IN DISSIDIA 2
Now that most of us have played this game pretty thoroughly, what are you hoping to see in a sequel (if they ever make one) gameplay wise and other things like whether is should be on a real console or stick to the PSP?
Any characters that need improvement? Nerfed? Changes to the Summon system? Battlegen? Equipment system? Music?

Tone down the villains; they are very annoying to fight against!
I'll think up some more soon.

2 on 2 combat.
Icons for weapon and armor (the way FFTA and FFTA2 had them. Makes those huge ridiculous inventory screens much easier to get through).

I really don't think anything more than one on one would work in the battle system. Toggling the target system is a pain in the ass as it is in the game and god knows multiple player on player battles are so chaotic that it would be like a game of GG:Isuka where you can't tell what the hell is going on half the time til two players are dead and its back to a one on one match. Just throwing in Terra, Kuja, Ultimecia, and Kefka would create a pyrotechnic show that would blind you.
I'll post my own thoughts on what I would like to see later, when I'm in a better mood.

It's a wish list, not a practicality list. If it could be sorted out, made to work smoothly, it would be awesome.

Fair enough. :p
I'll be a bit more realistic... just a little. :shifty:
I agree on a better organization table for the items and equipment. Its been taking me ages to sort through the lists to get to one item...
Give the remix treatment to all the games and perhaps use some of the Black Mage material. I would also welcome using more of the in-game music but move away from using some of the battle themes for them. Red Wings, Rebel Theme, and Bombing Mission are easily my favorite battle themes to use in the game, I would love to fight with tracks like Theme of Love, Aria di Mezzo Carattere, Not Alone, and the Sorceress Parade theme playing in the background.
Minor fanboy changes. Terra can use swords and armor in VI, why not in Dissidia (without the aid of an ability)? Also, what's with all the Ice Magic, her element was fire. Why does Emperor Mateus get to use swords? Little things like this but most are minor and it hardly ruins the game, just makes me realize how much of a fanboy I really am. Speaking of equipment, I definetly want more or the armor sets that give effects, perhaps create a few that are character exclusive...
Re-balance the cast.
WoL - Needs better magic, have it move faster but do less damage. Its purpose should be to distract or delay opponents long enough for him to get at close range. He also does not need a follow up HP attack with every single combo... He's horribly lethal in close range, even when he's not in EX-Mode.
Garland - Make Blaze criss cross so it doesn't leave him completely open. He also needs follow up HP attacks with his Brave attacks.
Firionel - More aerial options, they don't have to be good but can they at least be useful? His magic is pretty crappy but what makes them worse is how easy they are to get around, he needs at least one attack that can knock opponents into the ground where he has the advantage...
Emperor Mateus - Allow him to have more traps on the screen. He's fun to play with but his inability to turn stages into "playgrounds of doom" hurt him. If not in his normal form, at least let his EX-Mode be able to set up twice as many traps with twice as much lifespan and range.
Cecil - Needs HP combo follow up attacks, he's crippled for not having them and making most of his normal HP attacks ridiculously easy to dodge. Paladin form needs to be retooled a bit.
Golbez - Needs to be nerfed, at least make his attacks completely negated by blocking the first part. His laser attack (where he punches you and creates several beams of laser immediately behind you) is almost completely unblockable since you can block the punch but the lasers will still hit you since they appear above you. My friends Golbez ghost spams this move relentlessly. Not to mention that trying to dodge the move is really tricky and sometimes you find yourself dodging into the lasers due to the funky targeting system. Hell, half the time I find myself dodging into his secondary attack. So yeah, he needs to be nerfed...
Bartz - Needs a few villain moves and mostly needs better long range options.
ExDeath - A few more offensive moves that draw oppents into attacking him. Faster teleport.
Terra - Make Tornado slightly faster, and improve her Meteor as it works only half the time, lower the damage though. I also feel she needs to have a minor Glide ability cause she is slow. She also needs a few more defensive close range options.
Kefka - Needs to be faster. His trick magic is only useful if you can get distance or in most cases, even get the attack off. By the time he casts his Lightning and Fire spells off, two thirds of the cast have raped him to kingdom come. He's had one of the highest difficulty curves for me cause his slow attacks and movement speeds allow enemies to overcome him quickly... I still have characters that Kefka just can't win against without getting into EX-Mode as soon as possible.
Cloud - Remove his EX-Mode ability that makes his attacks unblockable. I've got scrubs that make short work of good players by getting into EX-Mode with this guy. Its hard to dodge his aerial attacks due to the speed of his attacks and it gets frustrating watching Cloud use an aerial move that easily breaks your character and adds an insane amount of Brave to his attacks and then have him follow it up with Omnislash ver. 5 and instantly kill you in one fell swoop. I don't want to remove the combo or Cloud's excellent Brave damage cause frankly its all he's got going for him, rather I would just remove his ability that makes his EX-mode a close "I win button"
Squall - Desperately needs at least one HP follow up attack. His HP attacks are easily dodged unlike his excellent Brave attacks. Against really good players, its almost an act of god to hit them with Rough Divide or Aerial Circle. His EX-Mode seriously needs to be reworked. I feel he easily has the lamest EX-Mode.
Jecht - The speed of his attacks combined with his funky auto-targeting makes this guy unnecessarily brutal. He needs to be nerfed. I'm tired of having him above me (or below me) and having him be able to instantly teleport in front of me to do his combos because I happened to be in his "sphere of targeting influence" despite the gap in distance between us both telling me that its logically impossible for him to do that. I know the linearity of his attacks as well as being almost completely close range should justify this oversight but I really don't feel it does cause he has the opposite problem of Golbez. Instead of being unable to block his attacks, its almost impossible to dodge them. You can dodge but he just homes in on you while your character returns to a neutral stance. To be fair, Squall also has this problem but unlike Squall, Jecht seems to be able to pull this off with his HP attacks as well...
Gabranth - Either needs his EX charge to count as a block (at least when he masters the move) or he needs better moves to keep opponents away from him. Much like Kefka, he needs so much prep time to get going that people like Jecht, Golbez, Bartz, and Terra can easily tear him apart before he has the chance to do anything. I only need his normal form to be a little more defensive.
Anyone I haven't mentioned are people I haven't had enough time with. I may add more to the list at a later time.

There needs to be an option to make your characters stop saying things when they use their moves. I have nightmares about "Go Away!" "Go Away!" "Go Away!" "Go Away!" because I spam blizzard so much on Terra... Also, Squall needs slowed down drastically, it's so annoying that he can use that one brave attack when he gets above you and uses his gunblade like a jackhammer and then do it again, and again, and again, and again, and they find any random HP attack while you are still getting slammed into the ground and recovering, and decimate you.

On the whole, I prefer the original versions to the remixed versions, so I don't mind all of the old stuff, but the music could use a redo. For one thing, make the map music usable in battle. Terra's theme and To Zanarkand are too dang beautiful to leave on just the map. Other than that, just more music in general. :)

His problem is much the same as Jecht's. His attacks are combos that will target you even if part of the attack fails. If the punch is dodged or blocked, cancel the stupid laser, because it does let him spam cast mercilessly.
To be fair, Squall also has this problem but unlike Squall, Jecht seems to be able to pull this off with his HP attacks as well...
Jecht's major problem is that all his attacks are long combos that track continuously. Even if you dodge the first bit, his moves like Jecht Blade will continue to combo across the screen, hitting air, but closing in on you all the time. Which, since there is a slight delay between when you end one dodge and when you can start the next, means he can catch up with you and pummel you even if you dodge. Either make his moves fail if the first bit hits, or make them stop tracking you.

*Looks around with shifty eyes* Totally not my Ghost I swear....
Ok what I would want to see is some balance in this game, You have chars like Golbez (I use em and I know he is cheap as heck.) and then you have chars like Cecil for example. Since they are from the same game even its a better example. You think they would be more near each others power. But no Cecil is rather useless now since everyone I play against knows how to dodge his HP attacks. While Chars like Golbez or WoL and HP attack from any of their attacks.
If your going to make branching attacks, atleast give one to every char not just a select few... Also...
Shanatto: Imo needs to be powered up and nerfed all at the same time, she is crappy at low Bravery, atleast just speed up the 5 secs of having to stand there with her arms out like a dumbass and ill be completely happy, or lower the amount of Bravery she needs to do Higher Tier and weaken them at the same time cuz... I have yet to see anyone win if Shanatto gets to 7000+ Bravery... Flare is hard as hell do dodge as is all her Ancient Magic...
Add some new chars, just like one more villain and hero from each game make it a bigger roster, or just add chars for Dissidia 2 from other FF games and keep the old. Add a hero for FFXII and a villain for FFXI. Add chars from lets say FFT (Ramza and Delita:love:) After playing alot of fighters (Playing Tekken 6 right now infact.) This game needs to be MORE BALANCED. Thats what I want more then anything to be honest.
I dont want to play this game and go, "Hah its <Insert Weak ass chars name here.> I dont need to worry!" Or go "F&$@! Its Golbez -.-" (I do feel bad for maining him but w/e I love him)
I am reminded of other fighters where one char is god... *Cough*Miguel*Cough* I just love balanced fighters and they did ok job for there 2nd fighter but I was hoping for alot more really, simple what to make it more balanced, Give everyone atleast one branching move like I said...
And now Im ranting so Im going to stop...

If I can get my Terra level 99 equips and a few more necessary accessories, you will be in for a treat. I've got her at Rank SSS with a Vicious play style ;)

This is kind of advanced for a PSP game, but it'd be nice to have the weapons that they use in battle change depending on what's equipped. I understand the need to stick to the original artwork, and I appreciated it, but it felt a little weird whenever I'd stick a dagger on someone who was clearly using a sword.
I know you said it's not for the discussion of new characters, so I won't go into details, but I really feel like they could add a whole slew of new characters. Choosing the "main" characters from all the games really made me feel like I was dealing with the same characters over and over again.
A coherent plot would work better, or no plot at all.
A cleaner menu system. I really hate that I can't scroll very easily through new menus, so I have to literally keep pushing for each and every new item.
Upgrade the command battle abilities. Or include, if only in the form of a bonus, the ability to fight RPG style battles with characters. The weapos, accessories, and abilities are there; it would work well.
Most importantly, I'd like as much new music - as much new music as can be packed in there - and new alternate outfits as possible. There's something incredibly fun about fighting to Crystal Tower or Rebel Army in all of its 8-bit nostalgia.

Hmm... if you're not considering practicality or how to balance out things, I guess it would be neat if the playable characters could temporarily "borrow" powers or stats from allies in their respective games. For example, Terra borrowing Locke's power would become much faster and would steal more BP through attacks and the Emperor borrowing Gottos' power (I couldn't really think of a better ally for the Emperor) would have his attack power greatly enhanced. This way, more characters can show up in the game without having the hassle of making them playable and giving them movesets.

In story mode, I think Dissidia 2 surely need a whole free-to-travel world like the classic RPG style, and not the board style, and it would be way better without chapters, just the classic free way to discover the story by exploring... :D
Another thing I would love to see in Dissidia 2 is a whole monster catalogue to fight against... I didn't like the manikin thing... I would love to see the classic monsters to attack me in the common world map battles... that would be AWESOME!
About battles, I would love to see multiplayer (more than 2 players) battles too... like in Smash bross... *-*
And of course, more characters and summons =)

Well, I did actually mean for this to be about practical and realistic suggestions as opposed to wishful thinking, though there really isn't much difference between the two I guess.
Another thing I would like to see is the ability to use multiple summons in a single battle. At least be able to use two or three different summons. That way, we could have fun figuring out how to make mean combos. To make it not so broken, I would make it so you can only use the summon once the other effect has been negated either through a counter summon, effect wore off over time, or the character got broken.
I also want to take KH2's Mog shop system and give you the ability to buy the Battlegen character specific materials once you acquire a certain amount.

Realistically I can see them adding one character from each game at best therefore I don't care good or evil, depends on the game. Having a better mix here, maybe some nuetral characters may make a better story. (I don't care about having a story, but realistically we are going to get one whether we want it or not). Character in Dissidia I think are slightly unbalanced, mostly Exdeath/Golbez, but for the most parts tier lists will succumb to the players preference which I think is great. I out of rebellion have been using what tiers consider bottom tier recently (kefka, sephiroth, emperor). Wolf Kanno had good balance ideas, but neglected Zidane and a few others, most of his suggestions beefed up characters though so that may bring them to the same level as current Zidane, but if not, Zidane needs to be slowed, too many hp connect combos. AND FOR THE LOVE OF GOD TAKE THAT STUPID WINK OUT OF HIS EX BURST! The character is gay enough as is especially with having King kuja manthong as a counterpart. (thats sorta personal, I liked IX, just get rid of the wink and maybe another voice actor for kuja) These are a lot because there are hard-core dissidia fans like most of us that are seeing our favorite character come to life and die before our eyes. There were a lot of fan-services and I am not complaining, but more! I would want an expansion in music for sure, as stated adding black mages would be cool and I need kefka's theme to satisfy the fanboy in me, don't care if it's not real battle music...i want it...After closer looks, I think everyone's character stays true to their origins so I want this to stay. Make it easier to play online as well, I literally ask random people at conventions looking for battles. I think this next is wishful thinking, but the game coming a data disc or something that is put on a ps3, when connected to the ps3, story mode/cutscenes/other memory sponge items will be accessible giving the actual psp game disc space for characters/items/everything that u need for battling people on the go.
