defriend... unfriend = much better.

Also, among the clutter I saw their definition for teabagger... *dislike*

Some of the words they considered amused me.

I like "defriend" better.

Oh, if only "teabagger" or "tramp stamp" had won.

I'm not sure I've seen "unfriend" much, ever. I thought "defriend" was the norm.

that's what I thought, too.

I guess we're all still hip kids and they're the adults not wise to our lingo jingo.

Although jesse and tsukasa's posts have me contemplating an orwellian facebook future.

Reducing our responses to single words is only the first step.

maybe someday, facebook will start offering generic statuses to pick and post from.
Or a mad-lib style, where you pick the appropriate word to fill in...

..if only I were CEO of this thing... oh the havoc I could wreak

Hahaha, teabagger.

Defriend is preferred, but both make me laugh. Though I think it's much bigger of a deal if you defriend someone on LJ than on FB.

Yeah, you're expected to like seriously explain. It's annoying. On FB I can just make it so people don't show up on my wall.

Oh man, this just seems low to me, a proper dictionary giving up its integrity to stay hip...

Lol, they've been adding slang and the like for years now.

Only after a word's been around for at least a decade!

This is the first I've ever heard the word "unfriend" used. I've always heard "defriend" before.

Defriend is better.

Anyway, funemployed is a great word xD .. and tramp stamp is a classic.

Defriend is actually more accurate as "de-" implies an action. The stem "un-" just implies a lack of something.

Stupid Oxford.

You don't have to worry about these things if you never friend them in the first place.
