What are your thoughts? (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/11/17/eating-a-deep-fried-fish_n_360576.html)

The video made me want to throw up, personally. I haven't been able to find any info regarding whether or not this has to do with TASTE or just novelty. I'd be sad if it was the latter (even the former is still icky).

I don't really see it as such a big of a deal. Of course, I'd never eat food that is still breathing/moving, that's just disgusting. However, I don't think the Chinese really care, they want FRESH FRESH FRESH OH SO FRESH IT'S STILL ALIVE!

Isn't that what Macdonalds do already Fonzie?

The video is pretty fucked up, I love my suishi but that takes the fucking piss.

Actually, I was reading some people's responses to this around the internet and one guy made the same point. Cattle are horribley slaughtered, yknow veal and all that crap, what difference does it make if it's still alive when eaten? Both still suffered.

Can it still swim if we put it back to the sea? :(

I'm not much concerned about the fish, since fish don't really have the mental capacity to feel pain. That being said: YUCK. Seriously, who the hell would want to eat that? Cleaning a fish is one thing, but for it to be alive on your plate? On the list of things I want to do at dinner, "kill my own food" is very low on it.

... Gross.

It may not have felt it but the thought of it being still alive is unsettling to me. It's just cruel, even if the fish doesn't realize what's going on.

At least he died doing what he loved.
