Not saying it's bad - just not my favorite. I've listened to it and though it starts off great, not a fan of about the middle to the end.

Of course, the AC one is the best, but this is the most original one.

I kept thinking it was just the YouTube vids but I downloaded the mp3s and for sure it does seem like the ACC version is literally worse quality than the AC one. I can have my speakers barely turned on and AC OWA will blast out. ACC has to be turned up and I still think i can hear instruments better in the AC one.

Did anyone else notice this?

And you're not an idiot for liking the CC version. It's not bad at all. It's just nto to my taste; especially compared to the others.

Oh, I have to agree. There's just something about the orchestra in the ACC version. The band sounds fine, but the instruments sound sorta... flatter. As if the orchestra size was reduced, or if they replaced them with midi entirely.

I'd have to say the best version is either the original or the orchestrated one, probably the orchestrated one.

The worst is probably the Kingdom Hearts one, its not bad, it just my least favorite.

If the Final Fantasy wiki is right then AC just used the Orhcestra version on a computer and played rock over it.


"One-Winged Angel" was remixed in the film Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children for the final battle between Cloud and Sephiroth. This remix is titled "Advent: One-Winged Angel" ("Sarin: Katayoku no Tenshi"), and was meant to be the main focus of the film's soundtrack. The original, orchestral version from the Final Fantasy VII soundtrack was loaded into a computer, with rock instruments playing over it, and the overall tempo increased, to give the song a more intense feel than the original.

The Black Mages did the version in AC, too...

The only difference in that live version is the guitar starts up earlier. Which I don't like because the AC versio starts identical to the Orchestra version (since..it is the Orchestra version) and then just kicks in after about 40 seconds with the metal awesomeness.

Are you kidding me? The Black Mages version's solo during the whole "veni mi fili" sequence is far more awesome than the original one.

The real question is 'Which is the best Version of Dancing Mad, the Black Mage version of the Fully Orchestrated version'.

I have no Idea which one I'd pick. ;_;

My favorite OWA version is the one played live at Distant Worlds in Stockholm on December 4th, 2007:

I think it's much more intense and "packs more punch" than other versions. It also sounds like they're playing it a bit faster than usual. The one on the Distant Worlds CD isn't as good - it's much "softer".
