There are Canadians who seriously can't remember who Paul Martin was (for those who aren't from Canada, he was Prime Minister not even four years ago, and Finance Minister for almost a decade before that). The saddest part is when I talk to reasonably intelligent people who actually do keep up with politics who have utterly moronic notions about a politician or how to run a country.

Anyway, I have to other thoughts on that video:

The only place I'm aware of that actually comes close to being real socialism in the world right now is Cuba, which has a :bou::bou::bou::bou:ty trade embargo preventing it from reaching its economic potential, but it's a top-controlled dictatorship, which is pretty far removed from worker control of the economy. A good example of worker-controlled socialism existed during the Spanish Civil War, but due to the number of outside influences conspiring to end the Catalan territories' autonomy it was pretty short-lived.
