I hate high fives.

I hate giving them, I hate receiving them, I hate being expected to know how the proper form of the high five, and I hate people who demand to be high fived after doing something retarded. Congratulations, you drank a beer without taking a breath. You don't get a high five for that.

What are your thoughts and opinions on high fives. For those of you that only have four fingers, please remove yourself from my thread because you are absolutely useless to everyone around you.

hand slaps (not necessarily high fives) are the understood greeting and departing gestures among my group of friends. in appropriate situations (i.e. with somebody I don't know that well/like), fist pounds can be substituted for hand slaps.

It's not very common in my group of people. We don't touch eachother unless we have to rub sand into eachothers wounds, but even then we are careful not to maintain physical contact for longer than 7 seconds, which is how long it takes to become at least bisexual, maybe more.

I hi-5 people quite a bit generally when working and we're joking around. I normally greet and part with close male friends using the whole hand clasping half hug gesture female friends I tend to greet just with a hug or in certain circumstances a kiss on each cheek.
