Is it just me, or does EoFF seem to have a higher turnover rate the past couple of years? I know working with BoB and Shlup is awful, but it shouldn't be driving people away...

Everyone hates the Patriots because, as it turns out, they suck.

I don't think that you're giving enough credit to Kansas City. They aren't quite nearly as bad as people make them out to be, and have shown signs of marked improvement.

But, yeah, the Steelers suck, too.

I see he generalizes a lot of the old dates (a remarkable amount of us stepped down in 8/2001, and a bunch of them the chart says were there from the beginning were actually up to a year later), but overall surprisingly accurate. BooB and his charts. *shakes head*

Yeah, I couldn't get everyone's exact dates - the old ezBoard luckily only has ranks on the posts which are made while you have said rank and that meant I could at least use archive.org to get a vague idea of who was on staff around then and for what timeframe.

Probably also worth noting that a lot of people were demoted in one go at some point due to inactivity. I think I got them all but you never know as we often had staff meetings in chatrooms back then and the results weren't always posted into the staff forum.

I may update it again later today!

I've heard that somewhere too.. something about it being some sort of coming-of-age thing or something like that. As far as I know it's not true, though.

But anyway, I'll now look at that pretty graph!

Update attached.

And I completely forgot after you all sidetracked me...

Thankyou to rubah and KoShiatar. In different ways to each other, you both provided us with valuable input. In rubah's case, she was one of the most insanely active posters EoFF will probably ever see, and a staffer of chat and frontsite to boot - not many have managed all three! Kudos to you for your efforts over the years. For KoSher, a massive thanks for taking our staffing to forums where we were generally less active, and also for offering an alternative perspective to most of us on staff. Thanks and hopefully someday you'll stop by again. :)

Absolutely no idea. xD That post was from just a week after the EzBoard opened, so my guess would be someone who asked to be staff and then disappeared soon after. There were a few of those, as only a relatively small number of the original mods stuck around for the UBB (me, BOU, Asorie, RSL, Unne, skanker, Jojo... that may be it).

And check out the ghetto spoiler markers. Oh, EzBoard.

Shlup: as I said, the chart lumps a lot of staffers who came later in with the original bunch at the start.

Daniel: Shlup didn't register until at least a few months into 2000 and wasn't a staff member until sometime after that... probably pretty close to where you currently have her first quit date. xD

eoff staff have done plenty of things I've suggested. Of course, it's debatable whether they ever did any of them promptly; I'd have to go back and look because my memory is :bou::bou::bou::bou:e, but an educated guess says probably not.

And yeah, you have to click on an embedded video for it to start loading.

Loony BoB

I prefer links. I've seen message boards that allow embedding and they end up full of YouTube crap everywhere, pretty ugly.

The Man
12-15-2009, 10:26 AM
You could always make the youtube tag a click to expand sort of thing like spoiler tags are, or else put in an option to display them in-thread or not. Plus most boards I've seen that have youtube tags enabled don't end up with many of them in many threads; maybe there's a dedicated YouTube thread and that's it.
