Oh hey this is something you guys might be interested in

There is a handheld NES/SNES/NeoGeo/GBA/more emulator (http://gizmodo.com/5195957/i-will-force-my-kids-to-play-chinavasions-emulator+filled-handheld) that sells for about $85 (http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.20217). It is basically half a DS. The native emulators are not so good but some enterprising hackers have ported Linux to it (http://dingoo-scene.blogspot.com/2009/07/idiots-guide-to-installing-dingux-using.html) and you can use SNES9X (comes with Dingux) with your existing ROMs quite flawlessly. I have been using it for six months and found it to be quite reliable. Currently Final Fantasy V runs quite well on it.

but other than that this is and always will be an excellent idea

The emus work really well on the Linux OS for the device, that is why I am officially endorsing it now :p

Then again, I don't really need it as all of my emulators work nicely on my laptop...
