It rains too much up north to get snow, it's sad :(

No snow here yet, but here in southern Virginia we're probably too far south to get more than a little bit of snow each year.

There was snow last week! It lasted only a day, though. Other than that, it was just rain. I hate it when it's cold and wet outside.

...If it actually snows here I would actually cry. I.. I wouldn't know what to do with myself! It hasn't snowed since I was about 8, and on the tele they say we have a chance every year but it never happens :mad2:

I'm ready for some! Hopefully after I got back home we'll get snow and I can just be snowed up and all huddled up playing video games in my parent's house. It'd be nice :)

We haven't had snow in a week and a half. There is still 3-4 inches on the ground outside and a lot of ice. It's been -5 since it snowed and the sun quit its job.

This thread is making me miss my high school in Maryland where if we got a few inches of snow school would be instantly canceled for at least a day. Law school never closes. :(

Since I've been here, school has closed once. That was because of a random snow storm in the middle of November that was enhanced by powerful winds.

Aside from that case, they just tell the students to stop being whiny bitches.

Hey, I used to live in Colorado, where school wasn't closed unless inches of ice prevented anything from actually being on the road. :p It all depends on the area and how well-equipped they are to deal with snow and keep the roads clear.

I have never ever lived in snow. Every couple of years, for a weekend, I drive up a mountain in order to find a couple of inches of snow. I did that last weekend and it was amazing. I've never run through a snow-covered street before, and it's only the second time I've been in snow while it was actually falling from the sky.

I posted a couple of pics in the picture thread. I was giddy.

Snow is fun as long as you don't have to drive a whole lot and you have a working heater! :D

Not when you have to wake up fifteen minutes early to start your car, clean off the snow, and huddle back in to the house until you regain feeling in your body. Then you get to drive on icy roads. Then you get to work. Then you get to do the fifteen minutes horror of cleaning off your car and warming it again before you get to drive home on that icy road back home.

...if you don't have to work though - it's a TON of fun!!!!!! Sledding was great!~

I got snowed on in Florida once in the mid 1990s, although I admit it was around Ocala, which is not so much Florida as it is Georgia part 2.

It has now snowed here non-stop since yesterday morning, and it will probably keep on falling the rest of the day. Now I'd say there's like a half meter of snow all over the place. It's been a while since we've had this much snow.

Sooo pretty! - everything looks like something out of a fairy tale. I can't help but smile everytime I look out the window.

ahhh, it's really snowing here right now. well, as much snow as England gets. It's been snowing really hard for the past few hours, and there is soooo much settled on the ground. Apparently, it's going to be about 20cm by morning!

I like snow, when I can look at it from inside my nice warm house - it's pretty. but, driving in it is not fun at all! if it's still really bad tomorrow morning - i am so not going to work!

There's mad snow here today. School's were closing early. Here in the south it's a big deal. Since early this morning cars were packled at Wal-Mart and we couldn't hardly move around and all the milk was gone. People were leaving with like four big packs of water bottles. I think some were just paranoid. I don't think it's going to be that bad. it stopped and there's about six inches on the ground.

Edinburgh has been getting some snow for the last couple of days now, it sits about 2-3 inches high in some places but mostly it just melts away (and then freezes into large puddles of black ice, urgh). Hopefully we get a good portion of it sometime when I'm not working so Danielle and I can go have snowball fights like last year.

We ended up getting about 4-5 inches. Apparently we caught only the tail end of the storm because surrounding areas within about 30 miles of here apparently have a foot or more. But that's plenty for me, since that's more than we often get around here.

Snow's all slushy now. I'm thankful for that. It's dangerous traveling in the snow. It all should be melted by tommorow.
