I cant see why someone feels obligated to have fun with family and friends at one specific time of the year.

I feel jolly good when i damn feel like it, not when a calender tells me to.

I'm poor and I love christmas.
It's a time when me and my family get together and eat a nice Goose. It's also a good time of the year for my little brother Tim, the poor kid might not make it until next christmas, he might make it if the guy who gives us our wage wasn't such a tight wad.
The reason we're so damn poor is because the guy my Dad works for is a total humbug and pays him barely enough to live on, AND makes him work nearly every day of the year with no payed holiday. God bless, I wish for one year we could have real Turky for christmas dinner.

I can't imagine why anyone would hate Christmas! :D

I did have a lady come into my job a few years ago and after I got done checking her I said "Merry Christmas" and she went ballistic, yelling at me and saying she would never do business with us again because she doesn't celebrate Christmas. She was paying $800 for a coat, so I don't think she was poor. :(

Why do you hate Christmas?

I love it. ^_^ It's happy and fun and sure, there's a lot of commercialization, but there's also a whole lot of kindness and giving if you actually look around. One of the radio stations I listen to a lot is granting wishes to unfortunate people and people who they think really deserve it, and it's really sweet to hear. It gives people something to talk about and occupy themselves with, and stimulates the economy. People also donate to charity, spend time with family, all of that. And yeah, they can do those things at any time of the year, but how often do most people do it, really? It's nice to have something to remind you once in a while!

...eh.

Christmas with my (not immediate) family is laced with drama and dysfunction to the point where my mom and I are all 'yeah let's just go and get it over with'. I've always wondered what people meant when they say they like all the family togetherness at Christmas, when we're both saying 'what no that's a bad thing!'

But then I remember the more houses I have to go to every year (my mom's, my dad's, my grandma's (on dad's side), my aunt's (on mom's side), my grandpa's (on mom's side), and my stepdad's family's house) the more free food I'm in for. So... eh.

I'm poor and I hate Christmas, though not cause I'm poor.

When I was a kid Christmas was my favorite and it was a very special time for my father and me. My mom would even fake sick so dad and I could do decorations together, just the two of us.

Then my parents split up, my mom took me away from my dad and most of her boyfriends would try and force me (no really, yelling and everything) to decorate the tree with said boyfriend and his kids. As you can imagine, I did not respond well to this xD

Oh, and the heavy commercialization of the holiday is a huge turn off.

And that is why I hate Christmas.

But I try not to be grumpy and I'm glad others enjoy the holiday. As long as I don't have to listen to the music, that is :)

I don't hate Christmas; I'm just apathetic to it like every other arbitrary holiday. I try to force some myself to care a little, though, because I know everyone else cares about it, but really I can only make myself care enough to buy my immediate family presents while allowing myself to be woken up by my little sister obnoxiously early on Christmas day.

i don't hate christmas but i find it increasingly irritating year after year after year. i treat christmas the same as my birthday. it comes it goes i move on with my life. a holiday just seems like another day of the week.

people run around for weeks finding presents to give eachother spending so much time decorating and getting ready for family just to build up to one day of the year. on christmas day i'm going to my grandmas to spend the day there. open gifts, have a meal, and go home.

when people tell me merry chrismas i say big deal.:eep:

I will promise to leave the poor people alone if you promise to start using the right "you're" and stop capitalizing every word. It's for your own benefit, I assure you.

Consider my offer! The poor people are counting on you.

No, it's because you're poor.

*weeps*

Take pity on me, rich best friend! Buy me many things and make me love this season again! Oh woe is me.

Oh by the way keep calling me poor and your present is going to be a box full of poo. Maybe cat poo, maybe people poo. We'll see.

I'm just sayin, is all xD

I like Christmas because I am a spoiled little kid. I also like my family so it's a good chance, and basically the only chance, to catch up with them. We don't exchange gifts because good grief there is like a million cousins and stuff. But we hit up the beach and it's great fun.

Hmm, I don't HATE Christmas but for the past three years its been a very hard time of year for me.

Lets start off with that three years ago my cousin died in a car crash a week before her 21st birthday in November - so my family were having a bad time then. The next year my Nan died and my parents split up - so again, a bad year for my family. Then 2008 my cockatiel died in October - He was the only aspect of my life at the time that was actually making me feel happy and hopeful for things to get better, so having a first Christmas without him in my life was very hard for me. And this year I thought Christmas wasn't going to be so bad, but yesterday my Mum and I woke to find my dog dead on the kitchen floor - Just a mere 8 days after his tenth birthday - So it looks like this year is going to be just as bad if not worse.

So I don't hate it, but I don't really enjoy it either - It just feels like another day that I get really upset on. :(
