I don't know about you, but every time I come to this site to log in, I'm treated to a picture of some 20-something who recently "lost [whatever] pounds" and frankly, I don't care to look at this guy anymore. I might not make such a big deal if there were a hot girl next to the guy, but I'm sure Eyes On can advertise something better. Geez.

Anybody else agree?
Similar complaints?
Anything?

I don't see any advertisements because I'm pro at the internet. :smug: Can you post a picture of the one you mean? It sounds kinda amusing.

I don't get any ads either, because I'm just awesome. So you'll have to clarify.. or switch to firefox.

get adblock plus, kills the ads.

I don't get any either. Maybe it's because I automatically log in whenever I go to this site - I think I noticed some ads when using another computer, and thus having to log in manually.

But yes. Ads suck.

It's hilarious! The FATTY! ads are my favourite of all the ads du jour, along with possibly Evony (getting progressively less medieval and more irrelevant, photoshopped and naked lol) and the ~tooth whitening secrets! one. I love how inconsistent and sloppy they all are :jess:

There is no excuse anymore for seeing an unwanted ad more than once on your personal computer.

Click on the ABP logo and it lists basically everything on the page. It might take a little bit of looking to find which one it is, but even those can be disposed of. At least the ones I've tried it on.

This, you can even search by type so it'll be easier to find than just mindlessly scrolling through all objects on the page.

I almost never see any ads, I'm subscribed to two lists I think with ABP and make my own rules too. I also use GreaseMonkey and NoScript! though too.

I like the “become buffed” adds myself. Good use of Photoshop.

It's not really our place to complain about the advertisements, seeing how they aren't interfering with browsing EoFF all that much (when you're a member and logged in anyways).

...but if I was to change them, I'd change it to this advertisement I found on this site one time where this man with huge eyes, ugly lips, and buck teeth was all "Don't you wish your girlfriend was hot like me?" The advertisement likely wouldn't work, but I'm sure it'd get a lot of laughs.

Here it is:

You only see it if you aren't logged in though.

That's totally not the same person! Losing that much weight doesn't suddenly give you style, the ability to style your hair, and a tan! And the faces look sooo different. xD

I'm not trying to say it is the same person, but losing weight would give a boost of self-confidence. Skinnier people have an easier time picking out clothes and would probably be more inclined to go to the beach.

I unfortunately do not have a home computer with Internet. Can't afford it (and I can't mess with the security on this computer). But just because I'm poor doesn't mean I deserve to be hammered with images of fat geeks becoming "ripped" geeks. Mleh:mad:

This.

Though I understand your situation, you could be less of an ass about it. Fine, you don't like looking at it--I don't much care for it either--but you don't have to be telling people their business. If someone wants to be fat what do you care?

I'm just tired of seeing the same picture each and every time. I want the old days back where there was some randomly generated ad that appeared every time I visited. That would be preferrable, believe you me.

People want to be fat? I guess I've heard of this. Idiots trying to set world records or some such nonsense. But usually, in reference to people I've known, they don't want to be fat. It's just something that happens due to poor diet (including drugs and alcohol) and lack of exercise (the risk increases when obesity is in the genes).

If EoFF started to offer dates with EoFFers it would make so much money it wouldn't need any other advertisements.

I'm just saying.

I get them on all my porn sites. It’s... awkward to get off when my eyes keep drifting over to a young blond guy flaunting his newly chiseled body.

I agree with Rye on it not being the same chick at all. However, I disagree NCG with the whole skinny people have an easier time of getting clothes. Ok so I'm not toned up (though I need to work on this) but neither am I a fatty, I have a 32" waist which at almost 6' tall is perfectly normal. Whenever I go to buy jeans I always find the 32" waist size have sold out and all I can find are fatty clothes.

Man, I work at Macy's and we're never sold out of 30-34 waist pants, we have the most stock of those. Maybe you just have a :bou::bou::bou::bou:ty system.

But I really meant to say that skinnier people have an easier time picking out nice clothes.

If they didn't want to be fat then they would make better choices, such as not having a poor diet and actually exercising. A lot of fat people say they don't want to be fat, but if they continue to choose to live as a fat person then they must want to be fat.

Either way, it's their choice and I choose not to ridicule them for it. Unless it's funny. Or unless it effects me, like when someone who simply takes up the space for two or three airplane seats tries to fit into one and ends up clearly encroaching on the seat real estate that I purchased. And even then I wouldn't call them a fat freak or demand they change their lifestyle, I would just want them to find a way to get the fuck on their side of the armrest. I don't think that them being in your line of sight is justification for ridicule though.

I only see those ads when I visit the site at a friend's house, either to show them a funny thread or just see how things are going. I find the blond guy particularly funny. It's like in the first picture, they just asked him to expand his belly a little bit and frown, and in the second picture, they asked him to flex his abs and smile. :p
