So when you stir something, do you stir it clockwise or counter..

I personally stir counter..Apparently it shows that I think creatively, but there could be other meanings to which way we stir right?

Thats what I'm asking too... A friend of mine told me only counter clock!!

I never think about this. I think I did it counter clockwise last time, but who knows what I usually do.

Clockwise, I never payed any attention and just did here at my desk. I did it Clockwise automatically, forced myself to go counter and it felt off.

Um, I never really thought about it. But I guess counter-clockwise most of the time, considering I'm right-handed.

You people come up with the most random topics.

Counter-clockwise.

It would be interesting to point out that in most conventions, counter-clockwise is given the notation for the positive direction. So, I fail to see why you would consider clockwise to be in the natural order of things, when comparatively fewer conventions use clockwise as being the standard.

Huh, never though of that before :p Counter clockwise.

well, I start off stirring clockwise, but that's not very efficient, so I'll throw in counterclockwise motion as well to increase the rate at which I disperse particles in the mixture.

Yep, same here. I just tried clockwise and it feels weird.

Counter-clockwise. I've always done that. Even when I draw circles (e.g. the number zero or the letter O) it's counter-clockwise. I believe counter-clockwise means you're left-brain dominant, and clockwise means you're right-brain dominant?

Also, this reminded me of the spinning girl (http://www.thehumanaught.com/blog/general/right-brain-vs-left-brain-cage-match/) test. B)

[Though when it comes to that spinning girl I sometimes see her spinning clockwise, and sometimes counter-clockwise.]

I feel like I mostly stir counterclockwise with my left hand. This is just an educated guess (i.e. i did it in the air and decided which one was more likely) though, 'cause I don't think I've ever really thought about it.

What if you can make her change direction at will?

..clockwise maybe? I think it varies.

What if you can make her change direction at will?

What does that have to do with which direction you initially see her spin in? I don't think the point of that test is to keep staring at her for minutes ongoing to see if you can make her change directions (though, as a side note, it would be interesting to try and see if you can); the point is most probably to find out which part of the brain you're most dominant with; left or right. You only need to look at her for a short while to notice in which direction she's spinning; clockwise or counter-clockwise.

But I've tried to make her change direction before, and it didn't work for me at the same instant. The first time I saw that spinning woman (which was a long time ago) I think I saw her spinning clockwise at the time. But when someone reminded me of the test and I looked at the picture again after all that time, I saw her spinning counter-clockwise. So I believe that if you're neither dominant with the left nor right (if you're somewhere in the middle), you could probably make her spin in the direction you want her to spin if you stare at her long enough.

Counterclockwise with my right hand for me as well.

Is the direction you stir in affected by your primary hand or something?

I would say your primary hand and the way you scoop things.

Do you stare at the mug from the bottom when you stir? because that would be a good way to get liquid in your eyes.

Not so much stirring as sort of splish splashing with it

Tavrobel

Yeah, but that doesn't answer the question of which direction is the preferred direction of your genitals.
