View Full Version : The Curse

You said something wrong and the evil wizard from the land beyond the dark mountains was mighty annoyed with you, so he put a curse on you. You can only ever listen to 5 artists/bands for the rest of your life. The good part is you get to choose which ones!

Which five artists/bands do you choose to be your only providers of sweet sweet music for the rest of your life? My list:

♫ Bob Dylan
♫ Leonard Cohen
♫ Tom Waits
♫ Billie Holiday
♫ Patti Smith

I'd put more modern stuff in there but man, I need wide discographies! There are so many choices that are painful to exclude, though. :(

Pink Floyd
Damien Rice
Coldplay
Radiohead

It is painful. The evil wizard really is evil.

Kamelot
Franz Ferdinand
Billy Joel
Santana
Weird Al Yankovick.

4 of those artists have fairly large Catalogs, so I should be entertained for a long while. :P

Bit of a sweetheart to give me choices, really.

Let's see.

Bjork
Lady GaGa (yup)
Madonna (yup)
Fiona Apple
Pink

This turned out a bit depressing.

Tool
Led Zeppelin

Dave Matthews Band
Nobuo Uematsu

Those'd give me a pretty wide discography. Helps that they're artists I've listened to repeatedly for years and never stop enjoying.

If that was as painful for you as it was for me, you'll be happy to hear that your fairy godmother has finished watching her soaps and sets out to help! She doesn't manage to break the curse, but she weakens it enough that you get an extra five artists/bands! Isn't that a release? Like letting yourself go after holding it in for too long. I add the following!

♫ Bjork
♫ Nobuo Uematsu
♫ The Shins
♫ PJ Harvey
♫ Neil Young

Of course, if you haven't done your first list yet, split them up into pre- and post-godmother!
