Loot is pretty much the replacement for earning gil from battles. It does make sense that killing a wolf would award you a pelt rather than 372 gil.

It does make more sense, plus I suppose that such loot sold could be used in potions or in makins other items such as clothes.

The concept of receiving loot from monsters reminded me too much of a massively multiplayer online RPG.

It does seem like the next step rather than arbitrarily receiving currency from monsters, but, yes, then you end up with odd instances of stealing things that seem vital to a monster's function. Taking a pelt from a monster? No problem. Taking an eyeball from a demon? No problem.

That.. And all mobs drop weapons and armor and trinkets, rings, necklaces.... Wolves use earrings now ?

If they had kept on dropping just pelts and scales, etc would at least make sense. As it is it is just silly.
