Nah, for seriously, has anyone made plans yet for Valentine's Day?

All of my Valentine's have been away from my boyfriends, until now, so I've been a little "yassssss valen-times lets go i need to be princess you WILL wear a suit! >;O" this time around, which I usually never am like. It's like the divorced woman who becomes a bridezilla about her second marriage sort of thing. But I'm not quite sure what we're doing. We're probably not going to a real nice restaurant because 1) poor college student since I'm not able to work at my job across the ocean and 2) I just really don't like what would be considered to be fancy food.

We're more likely going to out for sushi, or maybe for drinks and food at this place. (http://www.eclecticbars.co.uk/sakurareading/) But I don't know! I just want it to be special! I don't want to mess it up.

You know it's funny. I always wonder about the reasoning behind setting out one day to be particularly nice to your partner. For me I'm of the opinion that making your significant other feel loved is an all-year deal.

Anyway, as for me I'll be doing two things. One I'll be stewing in my own anger as is par for the course this time of year. The other thing I'll be doing is...well, I really couldn't say.

It serves as an excuse to go out and do something. Naturally, you shouldn't need an excuse to take your partner out somewhere nice and lavish them with love, praise and gives, but that's what society made Valentine's Day.

I might take my girlfriend out for sushi since she's been craving it for awhile but I haven't planned on it other than a spur of the moment idea just now. I normally don't do the flower route because it's cheesy and overdone, but she really liked it last time so I probably will do it again. Really, I don't know It all depends on how busy we are that week.

But if you're talking about Valentines-ish things that I'm doing, there's this one birthday party that I'm planning to go to. This Filipino girl that I like will be there and I'll hopefully be able to talk to her and get to know her better and not butcher the opportunity like I did the last party that I went to four days ago where I was bored out of my mind and would've practically fell asleep at.

She's too perfect for me to pass up. She's shy, pretty, reassuring, has a good singing voice (though she sings too quietly for most people to notice), finds my awkwardness amusing, and she's always helping out in the background with the parties and events she attends. I find it insanely hard to believe that she's single.

I finally found a restaurant to go to, and I've picked out an outfit! The restaurant doesn't actually have a Valentine's menu, which means it is actually much cheaper than most places, which pretty much require you to spend at least $50 dollars if you reserve, since you have to eat from their Valentine's menu! Yes!

Unfortunately, I haven't made plans for Valentines with my missus. I'm broke this year as I've elected not to work through the break this time 'round (I had a field placement at the end of last year for six months and will be receiving another one when the semester starts, so working in between will just burn me out).

If I did have money, we'd be off to this quaint little, semi-underground French bistro which serves my girlfriend's favourite 'self-melting' chocolate pudding (though I guess those last two PS3 games could've waited....) but since I don't, I've decided to go all out on the gift instead. I've picked up some used timber and I've been spending the last month and a half building a cathouse for her cat (aptly named Pudding). I put the front wall up yesterday and tomorrow I'm putting in the hinges with the door and windows. The roof is going to be a breeze but I'm not sure about how the railings for the porch is going to be held to the foundation, I might have to duck out and buy some glue. Once I've got that sorted, the house'll be finished. It won't look stunning but it's the thought that counts.

But just it case the thought doesn't count for enough, I'm also getting her a bottle of perfume she's had her eye on.
