Let's see how fast you can type ! Take the 1 minute test, choosing the "Test instructions" text.

The accuracy statistic seems to be based on the final result of the text, and not if you make errors. So if you type "the dgo [backspace x 2] og" resulting "the dog", accuracy will be of 100%.

Here's my result :
Net Speed: 66 WPM (words/minute)
Accuracy: 100%
Gross Speed: 66 WPM (words/minute)

Whats yours ?!

I did a whole bunch of typing tests the other day, including that one, so I could put my WPM on my CV on the computer skills section. It averaged out at about 93.

I'm nabbing about 95 on this one, although I've gotten 115 or so on others. Eh, neither is too bad, though I wish I were faster.

WHAT! And I thought I wasn't too bad...

~100 words per minute is insane. You're basically saying that no matter what kind of text you have to write, you can type a word and a half a second.

Crazy people and their writing skills. Ah well, I guess I'm not meant to be a secretary. :p

I get about 60 WPM, and I'm fine with that.

Chatting is integral to building fast typing skills. (this includes msn group convos also)

I used to be faster, too. I blame my shallow laptop keyboard.

I'm not in a position to participate right now, but you should consider: TypeRacer (http://play.typeracer.com/)

Compete directly with other people. You can set up 'private' rooms too, so you can just have EoFF people.

Yeah! Only problem is that MSN chat ruins my need to correct my spelling since I just type half-word-half-jibberish now. I type very fast, but I make a lot of typos since in MSN I end up sounding like "oh my god whaht happen hahhshjdisfios homy oogd guys whaT?!" half the time. :greenie:

I am! MSN group chats are the best because everyone is laughing so much that spelling becomes trivial. It's the language of bgfbhdfjfahhahahahaha.

Rye stopped talking to me because she hates me now :(

I type roughly 83 wpm. When I was in the military, I typed about 120 wpm.

I always backspace if I make errors. 100% accuracy is more important than increasing your speed from 93 to 96 or whatever.

I look at the keyboard when I type and I only use my Index fingers unless I am using Shift, Then I use my Ring finger. My accuracy is normally pretty ok, because if I mess up I normally feel that I have pushed two buttons and fix it without ever having to look at the screen.

72 WPM. 100% accuracy.

Though if you asked me to just type out a random sentence from my head, it'd go a lot quicker. I no copy good. :(

I'm an awful typist but I fluked a 90wpm 100% accuracy with a Facebook application a few years ago. It sits proudly on the profile page to this day

70wpm, 100%. I got to like 80 words and realised I made a mistake, so I backspaced :(

I can’t handle the pressure with these things. I get like 20 words a minute with 12.5% accuracy
