The "Opera"

When you watch the opera scene do you imagine Celes singing with a Opera voice or with a normal singing voice?

I prefer to imagine her with a normal singing voice which is why I hate to admit, but I like the GBA version of the song better. I think of it more as a musical play rather than an opera (even though it clearly looks like an opera), Celes is 18 with no prior training, she shouldnt be able to warble out an opera voice...

Speaking of which I would really like to hear an official remix of the song that uses a jpop singer or something rather than an opera singer.

Its difficult not to imagine an opera voice due to the length and power of the synthesized "voice" they use for the Opera. Only Divas hold notes that long and that still doesn't explain the men.

I feel an Opera singing voice is fitting if not only cause it is an opera but because their are enough variations of a great opera voice to make it work. She only hits a few low and high notes so I doubt if they did give her a "classic" opera singing voice that common people would imagine. Also, as long as the piece is not a difficult one, I doubt a layman would be able to tell the differences between a professional and a talented novice. Hell, chances are the Maestro had the orchestra play extra loud at points to cover her mistakes. :ffvising:

I agree with the OP. I have culture, enjoy my fill of operas when they serve booze, but I picture her singing with a lighter voice. Less vibrato and loin clenching - I like it.

Celes is 18? Really? A general at 18, amaizin.

Doesnt matter, as long as Celes is singing it, it's auto-awesome. Even if she did it in some weird new hardcore style combining screamo/death metal/techno/gangster rap, it would still be AWESOME, cos its Celes :) <3
