July 6th, that's the day the P3P (Persona 3 Portable) will be hitting the U.S. for PSP. Its been awhile since the old thread for this so just to tell you why a third version of P3 is worth your while, P3P allows the player to choose between two different main characters, the boy (Minato) who is the original protagonist and a female version of him. While the story overall will not change much, the girl does feature her own unique Social Links (I'm coming for you Aki ;) ) and the game utilizes features from P4's battle system, the big one being control over your party members. It also apparently has a few P4 references and possible cameos and the main interface has been completely streamlined to fit the game on PSP.

Man... DQIX and P3P... Summer is looking awesome already.

As much of a huge P3 fan that I am (2007 "Game of the Year", best RPG of the decade in my humble opinion), Portable doesn't really do anything for me. It's stripped down, and the female character's story isn't enough to warrant a third purchase of the game.

It reminds me a lot of Lunar Legend on the GBA -- the second of three remakes of Lunar: The Silver Star. Stripped down and useless if anyone played either the original or Silver Star Story. Anyone who hasn't played Persona 3 is better off seeking out the original or, preferably, FES.

I'm so super excited for this game! I get to do social links with the other half of my party now and they won't use Break abilities constantly in Tartarus!

Whoa, I'm way behind; I didn't even realize this was coming out. Definitely playing this over the summer.
