I just saw Owen Pallett / Final Fantasy (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5pQl7kye_d8) play a live show to an audience of about 50 people using only a violin, piano, and loop pedal and backed by only one other musician who played two drums and a guitar. If you only heard a recording, you would swear it was a full orchestra / entire band. It was the best live performance I have ever seen ever ever at all ever ever at any time ever ever. I am mind boggled and feel talentless.
This topic is three-fold!
A) What is the best live performance you have ever seen?
B) Who is your favorite musician from your country / city / province / state / whatever.
and C)! Are there any artists from your area that you think deserve to be more famous? I used to feel that Tegan and Sara were relatively underrated outside of Canada, until recently (afaik they're pretty big in other places now too).
