I haven't yet, but this isn't exactly a spoiler as it depends on how fast you do it. I'm just interested in exactly how long this game lasts for people. When they said 60 hours of gameplay, did they mean "if you want every trophy" or "if you want to get from start to end"?
Please keep this thread spoiler-free, thanks. :) Just post how long it took to finish. ;)

60-70 hours. 100-150 with trophies - that depends on the way you handle some situations, like how you get Gil, how you fight your enemies (which is easier with Lucky Stagger and the Genji Glove for example) how much time you need for your whole equipment, you training method, et cetera. So you the platinum trophy in 100-120 or 150 is possible. But you will not need 150 hours.
This should be spoiler free.

From what I've read most people take 50 to 60 hours to complete the main story and with all the sidequests it adds up to roughtly 100 to 120 hours.
I'm still on Chapter 6 though. :greenie:

Damn, I thought it would be 50 to 60 with some of the extra stuff. That's crazy. I'm in chapter 10 at about 25 hours, but I tend to do stuff like forget to pause the time and go make a sammich or post on EoFF for twenty minutes...

I just started the game an hour ago and I am on chapter 1. Am I taking too long?

[!]ShlupQuack, if you have a problem with a member, there's no need to publicize it. Stick to the private message (pm) system or be... maybe a little bit nicer.
Anyway, [/!]50-60 hours sounds good. I hope I can beat it before Super Mario Galaxy 2 comes out, though. I think I'll manage to do it, though.

Okay, I've deleted a bunch of posts (and parts of other posts) that were off topic and ruining the thread. If anyone has any problems regarding a post, remember that you can either report it or, if you wish to have a discussion with staff about something, you can make a thread in our Private Feedback Forum. Please feel free to continue to post about the original topic in this thread, however any off-topic posts relating to those which I've removed will definitely be removed as well. Thanks for your time, everybody!

I'm 65 hours in and just started chapter 13. I may go back to Gran Pulse and finish up any Marks I missed before continuing.

To answer my own question: About 55 hours.

Finally finished at almost exactly 3 days. 72 hours and 23 minutes. I did about 40-50 Marks on Gran Pulse so I'm thinking that's why I took so long.

Huh? I'm only like 25 hours in and I'm at the end of Chapter 11. I even did a bit of grinding in Gran Pulse. Surely the remaining 2 chapters don't take 20+ hours.

I think that's pretty quick for being at the end of chapter 11, but yes, there is still a lot to get through, pretty much. Maybe you're just ultra-efficient, though. :p

Surely they will do. Even with good strategies and training the final chapters can be difficult. So they can take 20 hours because of extra training, et cetera.

For what it's worth, I think the boss battles can take up some significant amount of time as it is, let alone the cutscenes and regular battling. I wouldn't say I did much extra training before the final battle. I thought I'd just give it a go, see how it went - and somehow won them all. Fighting buttloads of enemies earlier in the game probably helped, too, but I didn't do any more than about eleven marks before moving on to chapter 12 so I'm not sure.

You have written you've needed 55 hours to finish Final Fantasy XIII. So obviously you have done something during that time which made you strong enough to finish it. But it's still 30 hours more than Dreddz. So Dreddz will need some time as well. Of course he can do it fast. But it would be no wonder if he would need another 20 hours.

Just so you know my characters are horrifically weak at the moment. Plus I have dodged nearly all encounters since leaving the open area in Gran Pulse. I'd imagine I am going to have to grind for quite a while before I get anywhere else in this game. Or maybe my amazing skills will just be enough to get me through. We'll see.

44.5 hours at the final save point.

Looks like I'm winning on the length scale. :D
Or losing, however you like to look at it.

I just started Chapter 13 at 70 hours. I took the time to max out the three primary roles through stage 9 in the Crystarium as well as do about 20 or so missions.
