And I'm finally stopping long enough to give a good opinion report. Not because I wanted to, my controller for the PS3 died and my friend has the charging cord. Right beside a save point, too.
By the way: The title says chapter 9, so I'm not using spoiler tags, just a warning.
So at the beginning I thought this game was really too easy, but that was offset by how beautiful the game is, I mean not being able to tell CGI and gameplay apart is AWESOME, and also the battle system is just awesome. The class system/sphere grid combo of the crystarium is amazing, and whoever thought it up is a true genius. The paradigm system is also an awesome idea, and only controlling one character is fun because how long it takes to input commands, and at least the AI of my partners is smart. Then there's the story: Beautiful. I love the whole Vanille/Fang thing, then the Sazh story is so compelling, but when he shot himself, I almost cried. He was one of my favorite characters, but it was right after he got a summon, so I don't believe he's really dead. But don't reveal anything! Then Hope's story was pretty cool too, he really is my favorite character because I can relate to him so well. The Lightning/Snow/Serah story was a bit confusing at first, but the flashbacks help a lot, and I learned to love it. So, after a while the difficulty thing cleared up as well, and I like how dynamic everything is. A little overwhelming at first, then it became simple as I used it all. Then healing out of battle? Makes the game so much easier, and the removal of MP was great too. The stagger system is cool, as well as being able to choose which battles you fight - hint: all of them.
Not everything is so great though; just almost. I don't like how when the character you're controlling dies it's game over, and I don't like how the customizing system takes SOO MANY ITEMS. I've upgraded 4 things so far, and replaced 2 of those. Other than those two things, the game is perfect. I can't wait to recharge my controller and get back to it.
