What would FFIX have been like if

it were modern/futuristic like VII and VIII?

I always wonder what it'd be like if everyone wasn't cartoonish and had that more natural anatomy. Don't get me wrong, I like the fairy tail-esque setting of it all but don't you just wonder too!? I'm not weird am I!?

judging from the FFIX Art Book, it would have looked awesome... case inpoint is one of the arts have Steiner not superdeformed and the other was, the unsuperdeformed one looked great and made the final one look horrible side by side...

For the main characters it would have looked pretty awesome but I think all the npcs woud look really plain and boring. Wouldnt really suit the game and its locations overall:|

I think it would have been a lot like Esthar, only a lot more silly/adorable things like turtapods!
