View Full Version : STOP BUYING PSOne GAMES!?!?!
Well, I bought a few on eBay the other day and I'm also contemplating buying a PSP in the future so I'll be able to buy some old PSOne games on there to download on to it. I'd like to pick up Brave Fencer Musashi and Parasite Eve I & II, but I'm betting there will be a chance that these come out on the PSN in the future (Musashi is on the JPN PSN at the moment.).
So I'd like some advice. If I am to continue buying PSOne games, which ones do you think would be worth the investment, and which types of games do you think will be coming out on the PSN in the future? I'm currently thinking of buying Dragon Warrior 7, and I doubt that will come out on the PSN . . . ever. But with FF VII, VIII, and soon to be 9 coming out on the PSN, I think there's a good chance we'll see other Square games coming out.
Any thoughts/advice?

If you've got the extra cash, then go for it! Next on my list of PS1 classics is Gex 3 (provided of course FFIX isn't on there before I get around to it).

I don't know... the last Peter Dille interview on IGN seemed like an explosion of PSOne classics is set to happen soon... when that happens we could really see everything coming over. But as it stands now, it seems like games like DWVII and BFMusashi aren't really coming...
I would maybe hold off for a minute, but wouldn't worry too much if you went ahead and bought 'em.
Sorry for the ambiguity.
That's exactly the type of info I was looking for though. I'm glad there's going to be a lot more games out for the PSN soon. I don't even have a PSP yet, but I plan on having one by the end of the year. There are so many games for the PSOne, they should really be releasing more than just a few every couple of months. They should have 5 releases a month if you ask me, especially considering the lifespan of game systems!

Well in all fairness they release at least one a week which adds up to a minimum of four a month. Not that I'd buy most of them. :jess:
But if you look at the number of titles available on the Japanese PSN and the number on the American PSN, it really is pretty pathetic how few we've gotten. They've gotten a lot better about it in the last year or so, but more publishers really need to get on board with it. It'd be nice if we could see at least two triple A titles a month instead of whenever Square gets around to releasing an FF.

I would imagine that SE wouldn't be interested in releasing any PSN titles in the few month before or after the release of FFXIII. I've been wanting to do another playthrough of FFIX and Xenogears, but I've been holding out for a PSN release.
Also consider FFVII has been on the top 10 downloads of the week ever since it was released a something like a year ago. Maybe they are just waiting for it to drop before they release more titles. :)

European PS1 classics are so neglected. I don't think we have even half of what you guys have in the US. I'd love to get Gex for instance, but it's not on there. I'm very glad they have Medievil, but since I have a hard copy of it, it's no real point in getting it
