I was really curious as to who Terra was. She seemed sort of cold-hearted from the description Biggs and Wedge gave her.

Locke seemed like a pretty cool guy, I loved how he wanted his job to sound more impressive. I was also impressed that he'd go to so much effort to rescue some chick.

Edgar was great, I loved how he wasn't a stereotypical kingly sort of guy. He was young, he was a ho and he had some sexy hair.

Sabin was just a bear, I thought he'd be about as bright as a doorknob.

I felt really sorry for Cyan. I was confused as to why he was a samurai in a kingdom full of.. not-samurai, but I liked how he was devoted to his king, country and his family.

I instantly liked Shadow because I've got that kind of ninja worship thing going on (still). Although I was sort of.. scared. He seemed ruthless as all hell.

I think I actually disliked Kefka at first. He had some funny lines, but overall he was just a clown (I hate clowns) who was insane and whiny. I'm glad first impressions don't always stick, he's one of my favourite characters ever now. Also he's not a clown, he's a jester. Jesters aren't evil :colbert:

Terra, "Oh my....! I wanna look like that! My favourite<3"

Kefka, "Wtf? Is that clown or dog???"

Locke, "Awww<3 Thief! Will he marry Terra!?"

Edgar, "Is he gay? How anoying guy...."

Sabin, "Another gay one?"

Celes, "Another bitch? Ymm... I like Terra's prettyer......" - 5 minutes - "Noooooo...!!!! Locke! You have Terra already!"

Shadow, "Uu... That's man for me<3"

Cyan, "Whut? Some old china man? Is he mad?"

Terra-A slave of war
Kefka- Not as crazy as I thought he would be
Sabin-Hmm a monk, but why does he join the party. I know he's Edgar's brother, but being his brother doesn't seem like reason enough I won't follow one of my brothers if I felt it was foolishly dangerous.
Edgar- Ahh a woman getter like Zidane
Mog- why's he here
Umaro- him too
Locke- Okay
Celes-Interesting. Good to see another strong knight character
Cyan-hmm
Gogo-man, woman, don't know and why is it here?
Relm- cute little girl with a strange power
Strago- brave old magician
Shadow- Looks like I'm going to get a ninja and he has a rottweiler too. Also finally a ninja that looks like a ninja.

Terra - I was sad for her. She woke up to this dark reality in which she was being hunted, knowing only she had caused others pain, and had a hard time coping.

Locke - A bit excitable, but someone who has always tried to help people.

Edgar - This dude was awesome. A bit full of himself, but still cared for others a lot.

Sabin - With all the build up you get before seeing him, his enterance made an impression. Someone who valued his own freedom above all things, yet uses that freedom for the benefit of others. He was strong both of body and virtue, though he could be a bit thick headed.

Kefka - He's an asshat, and funny as hell. I loved him the moment he made a guy clean sand off his shoes.

Banon - very grouchy, but has a lot of spirit.

Gau - Entertaining.

Cyan - Stubborn as sin, fights for honor above all things.

Shadow - Silent ass kicker, pretty neat.

Celes - Full of regret, but looking to atone, Interesting.

Mog - ...His dances are cool?

Strago - Isn't really interested in world affairs, but concers for his daughter.

Relm - SHe's kind of bratty.

Ghestal - Cold and calculating, he's a planner.

Overall, they did a good job introducing everyone. ;p

Heh! Forgive me if I'm a bit... anti-JRPG in my reactions here.

Terra: Poor kid! Slavery r teh sukk!
Locke: ... Tool...
Edgar: Oh, for Pete's sake...
Sabin: Eh... muscles!
Celes: :(
Gau: Oh, for the love of god...
Cyan: DUDE! Sucks to be him...
Kefka: :O_O:
Mog: You've gotta be kidding me...
Umaro: O...kay. Right. Well, at least you're good in a melee.
Gogo: ... What... the SMURF is that music??
Shadow: Coolish! (Though now I feel he's a bit emo in the beginning...)
Strago: Sage! And a mage!
Relm: *Facepalm* (But I had the time of my life when I equipped her with Cursed Shield and Heal Rod! Snicker galore!)
Gestahl: S-scaaaaaryy!

I think I have to add that I FREAKING HATE that squid! Silly, pointless, *cue tirade* GRAAAARGH!

Sabin: Now, I'm meant to 'oooh' at your oozing masculinity but you just bore me..
Celes: What a babe.
Gau: How do I pronounce your effing name?
Cyan: You have a moustache. Heh.
Kefka: OMGWTFBBQ, best villain ever!

TREASURE HUNTER :mad2:
Hahaha! My thoughts exactly. :D

To be honest, I thought most of them were fairly generic. Only Celes, Terra, Locke and Sabin had somewhat interesting personalities.

I'm not sure why but I pretty much ignored Terra the entire game, despite the fact that she was essentially the character that the entire plot pivots around.

I remember being pretty gay for Sabin from the start though. He just kicked too much ass right off the bat.

When I first encountered Terra, I thought she was a rather generic excuse for the story to expand as it did. As the story grew, specifically in the World of Ruin, I became more interested in her as a character (despite an extensive back story not really being available). This was, more or less, my impression with the majority of the "main cast".

Locke was one of the bigger disappointments for me in the game, despite him being the one of, if not the, staple male character for the game. I enjoyed the majority of his scenes in the first half of the game (pre-WoR) but afterwards he kinda just seemed.. less important.

Celes was one of the characters I ignored outright, as she didn't interest me in the slightest and I had no sympathy for her "plight".

Edgar and Sabin were the two characters I enjoyed the most who were also part of the main cast. The bond between them and the small bits and pieces of back story that I could gather from various plot points and the way they act around each other was very well done in a game that wasn't exactly character-driven. Almost every time I play through the game, I include these two in my party.

I also loved Mog from the very beginning. He was a permanent fixture in every party that I could create. I just wish there were more of him.

I don't recall my reaction to the rest of the cast. Though I didn't really care much for Setzer either.
