That rather ignores the fact an odd team often gets to the semi-finals (Belgium, Bulgaria, Sweden, Croatia, Uruguay). And why would Korea be allowed to progress and not Japan, who went out in the last 16? And why am I arguing someone who doesn't seem to understand the concept of logic?
True, true. I actually like it when those surprise teams make it far. Korea's run seemed controversial IN MY OPINION. No doubt that team was great but the events that transpired in those games definitely had some controversy to them.

Also, I apologize if I've offended anybody with comments I've said. Kinda acted butthurt I guess, and I don't know why, I'm not even dutch, and maybe I just dislike Spain. Also probably made myself look like an idiot with some of what I've said haha, but oh well.

Now to focus on Euro 2012. Who's the smallest team participating in qualifying?

But, you have to be stupid to think that was play acting from Torres, and the goal definitely wasnt offside (not even the pass before).

Lol i wasn't exactly happy about the dutch either, i was screaming at the ref to send De Jong off, I was really disgusted, but all in all I am just not a fan of Spain's football style, which is technically and tactically good, but not entertaining what so ever (i know that a good team and entertaining team can be two completely different things, but still).

I was actually rooting for Spain until about 80 minutes into the game.

Also, Diego Forlan gets the Golden Ball award. Totally deserved in my opinion, nobody carried their team more than he did.

Holland played an absolutely disgusting game. Needless to say I was extremely pleased to see Spain win, thoroughly deserved it.

I went into the game hoping for a Holland victory, but became steadfastly neutral towards the end, what with the dutch fouling and the spanish diving. Spain deserved winners of the World Cup though.

He totally did. Everyone one else was is decent teams. He basically carried Uruguay to the Semi's by himself.

We played harsh, really really harsh. We had a red card coming, but Spain left a lot of opportunities (sp? I'm kinda drunk) open.

In the end, I think the odds remained 50/50 throughout the entire match.

THE THING THAT BUGS ME MOST THOUGH is that none of my friends, let alone pretty much anyone in Holland, would appreciate just celebrating second place. I made phone calls to pretty much anyone I know to make some party tonight, but no-one was in the mood. Obvious? Probably. Lame? IMO, definately. We ended up higher than Germany, Portugal, France and Italy, we've beaten Brazil and Uruguay in some nerve-wrecking matches; celebrate #2 people!

But no; there is NO party WHATSO-EVER. Shame, shame, shame...

Losing a final is the worst feeling imaginable because of that thing called hope. It builds to bursting until reality hits and you've never fallen as far. I'd prefer to get put out in the groups over losing a final.

Same. To come so close only to have it taken away would be terrible. I wouldn't know because England have never been to the final in my lifetime, but if it's anything like when United got beat by Barca then I don't want to know the pain.
