If you zoom in on the picture you can see that she's actually touching the tip of her nose with her finger.

But that's not as amusing as saying that she is picking her nose, so we'll go with nose picking. :)

Didn't they re-design her face after this? I recall her other CG artwork, of which there are two versions: one with this face and another with a totally different, more mature Ashe who resembles in-game Ashe more.

She looks more girly and bright-eyed here than she does in the game.

I noticed this in particular in XII, that all the female characters have wide hips and generally ample proportions. Compared to say... Lightning and Vanille in XIII, they're very curvy.

I doubt that this has anything to do with it... its more likely that because the popular body shape for women is tall and skinny, Lightning and Vanille were designed in line with that (well, the skinny bit). Fang has a slightly fuller figure, a bit like Penelo/Fran/Ashe.

Actually all female FF characters have had slim, but still full figures so far, except most of the women in FFXIII. Reflection of the times, I guess?

The females in XII look so much more attractive than the anorexic characters in XIII, who appear to have no muscle mass and no hips. I don't wanna stare at that crap all day.

And yeah, she is definitely picking a huge booger out of her nose.
