Yesterday, I bought a lawn mower, and I cut the grass. I'm an old man now.

Post something that makes you realize you're getting older.

I've been mowing since I was 13.

I've been old for 7 years, I suppose. :/

Mowing the lawn for someone else or for your parents doesn't count. It's the fact that I bought it for myself and for my own lawn that matters !

I had this realization about a month ago, also. I tried doing it while listening to my iPod filled with Pop Punk music but the cord for the earbuds is too short so I ended up hunching over. That really didn't help the situation. :|

The fact that my hair is actually thinning makes me look older than I really am. :D It doesn't really bother me much, I guess. I just wear a hat when I go out most of the time.

paying my own bills was the first step into old-ness

Working full time in an office with parents and grandparents. ;[

I feel young lately though, in the worst of ways. I'm going into my third year of college, and I'm living at home again, no prospects for moving out to my own studio apartment because my job can't afford it and I'm not one of the lucky ones with parents who will pay for that sort of thing, not that I expect them to, honestly.

Have no idea how my credits are working out in college, so I may well be behind and will delay my graduation and job-getting. And even if my credits are in order, I'm interested in a 5-year master's program, which further delays my job-getting.

It's all kind of depressing.

Aside from well turning 25 in just under a months time? Well...

I was on a tube train home and this group of about 5 american girls are also on the train, because they said it was crowded like a sardine can when it actually was pretty quiet for rush hour I laughed, this got me in to conversation with them and after flirting with one of the prettier girls for the duration of their journey and generally having a good feeling from the convo just before we pull in to their stop she says "Well thankyou sir for making my journey so pleasurable" I seriously felt old at that point so I did reply with "whoa what sir? Please don't call me that! I'm not old! Call me Steve" followed by some laughter she seemed happy to do so. I felt better when she gave me a hug as an apology for making me feel old. I mean yeah getting called Sir is dignified but... DO NOT WANT!

Also when you get a girl who hits on you who is 18 and you end up realizing theres 7 years between you two in terms of age. That's painful. Thankfully I am a firm believer of you're only as old as the person you touch and also have a very immature personality for my age.
