The Beijing Olympics' "Fuwa" were the best mascots out of the last 4 sets (I don't know where the Olympics were before Sydney... Barcelona?).

By the way, these one-eyed freaks are called Mandeville and Wenlock. I don't know if that's of any significance to Londonites, but the Sydney Olympic mascots were called Syd, Olly and Millie after Sydney, Olympics and Millenium, which made sense.

This thread looks like an example of the first comment influencing the rest of them (EoEO syndrome)

I'm pretty meh about the mascots though, they look pretty interesting but the whole cyclops thing they have going on let the team down

Well, I haven't given out an opinion myself, now have I? Well, I don't really see anything terrible about the mascots, but I can see how they can be viewed as one eyed monsters. xD The names are a little weird, but at least they have some meanings behind them. I would think the mascots are a little improvement over the logo, I think. The logo is just terrible looking, meanwhile the mascots aren't.
