From what I've heard and seen, the sales weren't great outside of Japan, so I don't know if there's much of a desire to make a sequel if they know they'll turn more of a profit from putting more effort into projects like FFXIV or FFXV.

But I also desperately hope for a Dissidia 2. It's the best new fighting game I've played in a long while. I'd like a sequel with a 'real' multiplayer.



edit: Found this (http://kotaku.com/5496307/square-enix-will-do-its-best-for-final-fantasy-dissidia-sequel) just then. It's much recent though news on the game itself is non-existant, it does seem like Dissidia 2 in the pipeline.

Both Kitase and Nomura have said they would be interested. Kitase apparently mentioned in an interview that a sequel might have KH characters but Nomura later stated that wouldn't be the case though he said he would love to have Sahz represent XIII.

Its going to happen but when it will be done is another story entirely. I'm expecting another year before we start hearing real details outside of an announcement its being developed.
