The esper world

How big do you think the esper world is?
Is it a whole different universe like ours?
Is it just another planet by itself?
Is it on the same planet but locked away so it cant be reached except through the gate and theres some kind of magic wall around it?
Or maybe when you get to the edge you just end up right where you started in an infinite loop?
Or it just that one little town.

What are your theories?

I think the Esper world is just another planet. It didn't seem much bigger than that town, but that may just be because there weren't many espers left after the war anyway.

I think it's on the same planet but locked away by a gate sealed with magic :p

Oh, I definitely thought it was on the same world but locked away. The Espers would have the ability and the reason to do it, right? I was always so interested in the treatment of them as another secluded race.:D

I imagine it as an entire other world, they probably just couldn't show that much of it due to using space in the game for other things.

I wonder if it's possible to actually walk around in the Esper town with a debug tool of some kind.

I picture it as if it was the same in all Final Fantasy games. My theory is that summons come from the same world just different dimensions. When a esper is summoned it reveals itself in our dimension long enough to do its trick and returns.

Well in FFIV summoned monsters lived in the center(-ish) of the world. So that is entirely possible. The door could just literally be a door. (Magic door that is)

In FFVI you don't actually have to summon monsters from anywhere. You can only summon monsters that have already died and you have their remains in your party. So there doesn't have to be any mystical summoning connection between the two.

The Esper World is the Floating Continent, so it's roughly 1/6th the size of the World of Balance.

Here we are speculating about it too. But if it wasn't for us trying to steal their powers we wouldn't even know about it.

Why do we need to know where it is? That's like asking where are own universe is.
