It's a bi-annual celebration of the accomplishments of the EoFF community and of how much certain people have done to appeal or otherwise stand out to the community.

Not that "popularity contest" isn't an accurate term. Some people would use it as a pejorative. The more accurate pejorative term is "forum-wide circle jerk."

Ciddies are a twice-a-year competition similar to the grammies or MTV music awards. First a list of categories are posted and then the members here nominate other members for that category. Next the nominated members are listed in a voting thread and everyone complains about how the ciddies are a popularity contest or rigged or about how they're too cool to be nominated. Then people can choose to predict (with the most important detective skill EVAR:guesswork) who will win the ciddie if they so wish. After that the person running the ciddies, who is strikingly similar to Loony BoB, stands on a soapbox and basks in the glorious attention of millions of adoring fans as he reveals the winners!

I got something like three or four Ciddies the first time I was eligible for them, maybe even more. I don’t think I’ve ever gotten any since then. In fact I’m pretty sure I’ve only gotten about ten votes spread over all categories I was eligible for since then.

edit: best newbie, mlt become a cid's knight, mlt become a recognized member, mlt go insane should eoff disappear. I apparently won or tied for all those categories in nominations as well, and somehow came in second for Best Male and tied for second for Best Avatar (I don't even remember what it was), and came in third for most productive member (wtf?). I was pretty overrated apparently.
