Who's your favorite Mortal Kombat character?

When I was a kid my favorite Mortal Kombat character used to be Johnny Cage because when I saw him in the original movie his cynicism vaguely reminded me of Han Solo. But now that I'm older I realize that Johnny Cage is not the hero of the piece. At best Cage is the comic relief and at worst he's the sacrificial lamb who always ends up dying for a greater cause.

I like how Sonya pretended to be a bad ass in the first movie but when Shang Tsung grabbed her, she suddenly became a screaming damsel in distress.

Kung Lao is my favourite. I liked his non-canon personality in Shaolin Monks where he was less buddy-buddy and had more of a rival relationship with Liu Kang. He's always been second best compared to Liu Kang in the MK universe, but I love an underdog.

Especially an underdog with a really awesome hat.

Honourable mentions go to Scorpion, Sektor and Smoke (for funniest fatality; destroy the world with a dozen nuke bombs --> fight next round xD)

When I was about six years old I would always play the earlier Mortal Kombat games as Scorpion when playing against my older brother because I could only seem to defeat him with that character. So naturally, Scorpion is my favorite. I have always loved the, "Get over here" thing. In old and more recent Mortal Kombat games I will still play as Scorpion, but I also like playing as Sektor and Liu Kang.
