Season three premieres tonight! Who's excited? I keep hearing that this season should be good--better than last season, which had that awful whats-her-face storyline.

Tonight's episode is called Bad Blood. Sookie turns to Eric for help in finding Bill; Andy urges Jason to stay the course; Sam reconnects with his past; Tara seeks refuge from her grief

I don't have cable so I'll have to download the episode, but being that I'm on the west coast I can usually download an east coat airing before it even airs in this timezone anyway. xP

What are you hoping for for this season?

My hopes include more boobs and All Eric Northman, All The Time.

I'm gonna enjoy the Sookeh/Eric teasing that they'll hopefully sprinkle throughout the season. Don't want them to hook up yet though. I'm super excited about this season since all the little sneak peeks I've seen so far have been great. Last season's storyline was pretty awful and I feel like they'll try and stay away from that kind of stupidly over the top ~mystery~ type thing and stick with the relationships. IE: Bill/Lorena, Bill/Sookeh, Sookeh/Alcide/Debbie, Sookeh/Eric, Eric/Love Interest, Everyone/The Queen, etc.

There's a lot of stuff there without having to bring in an idiotic character like Mary Ann again.

I liked the episode overall, though this season is continuing the theme of the latter half of season 2 of me disliking every scene involving Tara. Remember the good ol' days when she was actually half-way intelligent and funny?

I liked it. The tara stuff didn't annoy me that much. I liked it overall. Wasn't like a super big omigawd season premiere but it felt True Bloody. I loved the crazy queen, Jason, Jessica, and Lafayette.

Overall, a very solid episode. The religious stuff with Tara and her mom made me roll my eyes, but it was well played and acted so I don't have that many complaints about it. Jason, Jessica and Lafayette continue to be my favorite characters in the show. The Queen is also delicious.

Third episode was terrible. Glaring continuity errors in a couple places, the dialogue was pretty campy and some of the actions of the characters made absolutely no sense in the context of their personalities.

The creepy vampire dude is stupid and Alcide is pretty boring so far.

The ending was really lame too.

I'm starting to like this show. "Trouble" was a great episode. Much better than whatever the hell that was in "It Hurts Me Too". I mean seriously wtf WAS that at the end? Nah, I think it has to do with allowing Vampires to be in the sunlight. Vampires being able to be out in the day would be an extremely desirable/dangerous thing. I think that's why the Queen is so interested in her and why Claudine warned Sookie not to let Beel take her light.

The Sookie faerie dream sequence was so ridiculous and lame. I just could not get over the 2nd hand embarrassment.

Otherwise, great episode.

I was very underwhelmed by this recent episode. I seem to get that way this whole season.

I do like the Sam storyline though, he's getting actual development rather than piggybacking off everyone else and letting everyone walk over him. I wish I worked at merlottes so I could just call in, "Hey boss i'm not coming to work kthx!"

The JasonxCrystal thing is just meh to me. I don't care for it much. I'm glad tara actually did something instead of being all victim like but I miss franklins character already.

I am not a fan of bill at all anymore. He just needs to get lost already. and so glad Lorena is gone. Any bill storyline needs to gtfo. Also I still love eric :D

And the King just doesn't seem as evil as it seems they are trying to make him. I love the queen though, "Where's my Hadley!? Bring me my Hadley!"

Can't wait for next week. I love the books but I also totally adore how they're not slaves to it. I think bringing in Hunter about 5 seasons earlier than you'd think was genius. I'm starting to think the reason why Bill's shoulders start steam is because the effect after drinking Sookie's blood, begins to wear off after a while. Still, he was able to travel to that fairy place or where ever the hell that was without having to kill her. I'm really interested in knowing why she and that other woman have Super Saiyan powers.

Also, loved the Franklin come-back and then the abrupt departure.

Oh my god. That kissing scene was way hot. Both dream and real. I seriously didn't think she would go along with kissing him when i saw part of that scene in the preview xD but I am SO glad she did - and she liked it! Oh man I can't even explain how excited I am. But besides my usual obsession...

I love how Krystal just up and exposed her true form like that. I think Jason will finally realized just how full his hands are with her now, and it was so badass how he kicked Bill out like that xD Man, Jason's having some good moments this season. And Sam's backstory? Who knew he was capable of that, as gentle as he is? I guess everyone's got their secrets though. And the way Sam's brother went after Hoyt? I have a feeling that's not the last Hoyt will have to deal with Tommy.

I just wish it hadn't taken so long for it to get seriously good :( Season's almost over! Finale is September 12th, btw.

I wonder how she's going to treat him and now all vampires now that she knows that even a human killed the person she loved. Hoyt quick popping Sam's bro was funny. Russell is seriously crazy, Sookie made a funny when she said it was lame when she found out that she was a fairy. Red waitress telling Bob that the child is Renee's. I almost thought Bob was going to hit her for a second there, but he handled it like a man. His wife, she didn't react the same I mean how can you do that? She wants to kill her child just because his father was a murderer. How effed up is that? The child cannot help who his father is and just because his father had evil tendencies does not mean that the child will be the same. That new waitress is suspicious too. Very good episode overall plus...

Eric was super duper smokin' hot this episode.

But here's the stuff that really annoyed me:

* The back and forth with Eric's character. First he's sweet with Sookie, then he's a complete fucking asshole, and then reverts back to being sweet and then back to asshole again. WTF? I know that Alan Ball has changed a lot of stuff from the book to the show, but Eric/Sookie's relationship has always been my favorite thing about the book. I hope the last two episodes redeem Eric.

Eric was super duper smokin' hot this episode.

But here's the stuff that really annoyed me:

* The back and forth with Eric's character. First he's sweet with Sookie, then he's a complete smurfing asshole, and then reverts back to being sweet and then back to asshole again. WTF? I know that Alan Ball has changed a lot of stuff from the book to the show, but Eric/Sookie's relationship has always been my favorite thing about the book. I hope the last two episodes redeem Eric.

episode was slow. That Crystal girl being a panther really didn't seem to make since to me at all. Would've made more since if she was a werewolf. Also wtf was up with Sam? That episode made me despise that character. I don't see what could have justified him to act like that when he was on such a good path with his business, finding his family, and taking in his brother. I didn't really feel bad for him when Tommy went into his safe again. Wouldn't have happened if you hadn't treated him like that. Also wtf is up with Lafeyette and Jesus. They don't seem to be needed. I don't see how Bill could really say that he loves Sookie when he doesn't tell her :bou::bou::bou::bou:, he shouldn't be sad or mad if she breaks up with him permanently. Same with all of the Jason/Crystal/High School kid crap.

Eric & Pam have the BEST relationship in this whole god damn show. They broke my heart in this last episode.

So of course, Eric some how lives being burnt alive. I guess Pam or someone saves him. Definitely not surprised either by the were-panther thing with Crystal. Very confused by the Lafeyette thing. Was he just imagining him as a demon, or is he really a demon?

I agree with Miriel with the Jason story being boring thing. His stupid bullying and whining about being a legit athlete is annoying. His character in general annoys me. Whenever he comes on I just tend to go and get a bathroom break despite having the ability to pause the show.

I read the novels when Jason scenes show up :p It's great that he's getting his own story finally, but it's pretty repetitive and boring, so I just occupy myself until the scene changes. Same with Jesus/Lafayette.

Also in the stills, eric had visible damage to his skin, and the burial was taking place at nighttime. Judging by the Preview for the finale, Sookie probably has something to do with Eric's rescue, as she comes running out of Fangtasia with a silver chain. If that's a correct assumption, then I believe we have some serious Eric x Sookie coming up in season 4.

I actually like Jason's storyline. It brings a bit of normalcy to the otherwise bizarrely messed up supernatural monstrosity that they've created with this season. It makes sense to me that, in the midst of everything that is going on, and everyone not being exactly who they appear to be, Jason would want to hold onto something solid like his claim-to-fame of being an amazing athlete.

Jesus cannot be trusted. Pretty sure he's going to do something crazy or become a TruBlood addicted creep and Lafayette is going to have to leave him. The whole Bill x Sookie x Eric thing is sorta old and tiring, as it's been going in a circle for the entire season. She needs to decide if she likes the blonde guy who cannot be trusted or the brunette guy who cannot be trusted. Either way, she needs to stop being annoying.

I want more Pam and I don't care where I get it. I also want more Jessica x Hoyt because they are absolutely adorable together. I just hope the thing that went on between them in the last episode doesn't end up destroying them completely.

Except for the last 10 minutes or so, it felt like they were just dragging out the predicaments of the previous episode with no real progress being made.

It looked like a full doll to me. I have a feeling they're going to reinvestigate the "Voodoo/Vodou" thing that they had going in.. the first season? All I know, is that I groaned at the end of that scene. I was also fairly upset.

Season finales are supposed to have a sense of closure mixed with epic cliffhangers and what-the-fuck moments. This season's had, well, none. It was poorly constructed and rushed without any real substance aside from things that everyone already knew was going to happen.

Breakdown:

Five minutes of Jessica? Really, writers? Come on now. I know she isn't a central character in the show but she is one of the better characters and the best vampire on the show at the moment.

Jason: Okay, his little finale was decent, I suppose, because I can actually believe that it was in his character to do something like taking care of a family of were-kitties who all look like they're straight out of the Great Depression but the way they arrived at the end of his arc was kinda meh. They need to give him more substance and, at least once, not have him fall for a girl who is completely imbalanced.

Sookie/Eric/Bill: One can only hope that Anna Paquin is out of the series and it'll focus on something else for once. The Fey storyline was over and done with the moment they introduced it (partly due to her inability to act in a convincing manner). Bill betraying both Eric and Sookie was somewhat unexpected (insofar as the manner in which it was done) but, in the end, he failed to impress yet again. Eric is becoming a boorish character too intent on his love/obsession for Sookie that his character is becoming a rehash of a rehash.

Sam: More badass, downward spiraling Sam is necessary in season 4. When I heard they were going to introduce his family, I figured it'd finally be time that we got to see more of his past. We did, but it wasn't as much as it should've been. Again, not a central character to the overall story but he's still a fairly major player in the lives of Bon Temps. They need to explore his darker past and bring it to the forefront of his future.

Lafayette and Jesus: This was probably my favorite part of the season finale and the overall season. Finding out that Jesus is a witch (he's a warlock really) wasn't as surprising as they tried to make it but it was fairly well done. I hope the relationship lasts and they explore more of this in the next season, though not to the point of Lafayette becoming a warlock himself.

Tara: Thank fucking god she is, presumably, gone.

Did I miss anyone? They probably aren't important.
