There is something on FFIII reminiscent of FFXIII.

The Maker can be compared to Noah in that he left the world.
Barthandelus can be compared to the main villain(one of the apprentices).
Pulse suffer a devastation like the "world below" on FFIII which was flooded.
The floating world is a type of Cocoon and a haven for people to escape Pulse.
Eden can be compared to the tower which floats the world.

If someone remembers something else I would thank.

Posted a comparison between III and XIII in another thread (http://forums.eyesonff.com/final-fantasy-xiii/132332-character-similarites-previous-ffs.html). Beat you to it. I win.

I can't think of anything only because I didn't invest much into XIII so I can't remember many of the names of anything or anyone. I like your comparisons, though! Reminds me of just what an awesome game III was. :)

Being serious for a second, I wonder if the writers of XIII actually had III in mind at all. The two worlds bit has played a part in a number of FFs. Another way to look at XIII's general plot might be as a reverse of IV's, with the citizens of Cocoon (IV's moon) being introduced to Pulse and all its history (IV's blue planet).
