36: Most Hardcore Gamer

In the trials and tribulations of the Tavrobel gaming timeline, I have conjectured before, that "hardcore" is not just a display of skill, but rather, an investment of time. To say that someone who is naturally good at video games is hardcore is not necessarily true. I should only hope that you share my perspective, but alas, I am not here to convince anyone.

I myself come from a long, proud line of "hardcore" gamers. I have spend enough time to know the mechanics of a large group of games, down to the formulae associated with them. These are by no means simple tasks, and neither are they easy to memorize. I myself am no slack of a gamer: in Starcraft and starcraft II, I have mastered the mechanics of playing the Terran race, and when it comes to Diablo II, I alone among the hordes of EoFF mambers have the bitter distinction of having suffered permanent damage to my right wrist from playing the game. If I had discovered hotkeys earlier in my life, my left wrist would be in severe pain, as well.

I am not here to wax philosophical, but time investment is the hallmark of hardcore gaming, not skills. Several of the nominees come from being featured while playing the games of their expertise firsthand, such as Iceglow, MILF, and if you bothered to talk to him, JKTrix, while others have come from the school of analysis and discussion, such as Kanno, Vivi22, and Sephiroth. Both are valid forms of hardcore gameplay. But in any case, I am not to say, this time. EoFF chooses: who would EoFF say has spent the most time on their games?

Ohh, btw, for those who think that you can be both a hardcore gamer and primarily a console gamer, you are automatically incorrect.

People come, people go. Sometimes, they just plain, wind up doing :bou::bou::bou::bou: like that. I can't explain it. I can't fathom why they do, but it happens. People arrive, people leave. In whatever fashion they decide to depart in, whether it is in poor humor or in glorious cacophony of triumph, they are remembered as those who just simply left. they have removed themselves from the community of contributors, preparing to make way for those who come after.

Demon Dude was banned, presumably due to a picture relating to a fish and the character Suzaku of Code Geass. He would be well remembered as a spammer, a personality reformed member of the forums who, as it turned out, once you got past the annoying, there was a sweet, gentle, honey-filled core of slightly less annoying.

Leeza (Lezza) the cat lady has gone, after retiring from what was the senior position of authoritarian and disciplinarian. I might have to say that Shlup has taken such a position, if she weren't also so busy playing tricks on her fellows. The cat lady was all class, if strict.

Roto13, banned some time ago, was another of the family of proud snarkers. I do distinctly remember him defeating me inn popularity my first Ciddies that I was here for Best Regular. Surprise, surprise, he became more jaded and more disillusioned with the concept of having to be nice to those who are wrong.

RSL, former admin-badmin, and Lions fan (*snicker*), is a beloved target of tjokes among the community. Older people may not have known him personally, but what matters i the legacy, the legacy of Eeyore hat and his birthday being synonymous with awesome.

scrumpleberry was very active in her time here, contributing in threads in interesting ways. I'm sure she made her impact with other members, though not so much with myself. I just plain don't care.

Wind Shear, the shear force applied onto an object caused by wind. turns out, that he may best be described as a differential equation, a necessity for products of functions where velocity times something must equal an external force. I don't know anything about this guy, and truth be told, I'm sure other people were just as shocked.

Who does EoFF miss the most? Are these the hearts of lonely people ripped in front of us?

There are plenty EoFFers that don't get the recongnition they deserve but I'm here to discuss the 3 who deserve it the most.

First up we have Aerith's Knight. In light of recent events, some of you may call him a hero! He does post a lot and I don't see why people don't give him the credit he deserves. I do have to say he gets nominated for most likely to get banned often, so there's some attention. It's not so great but some people say, "better bad attention, then none at all"

Our second nominee is Guardian XIII. Personally I don't think he get enough regonition here. He's a great writer, just go check out the Writer's Corner. He's nice, and he was the first person to give me the time of day when I first joined. Yes that's right. He took the time out of his busy schdual to talk to little old me. So let's give this guy some more credit. He's been here long enough and he sure as hell deserves it!

And last but not least we have Miriel. To be honest, I don't know her that well. I've never really got the time to sit down and talk to her. Maybe I should, maybe not. Maybe this is why she has been nominated for this award. I guess there are people out there who love our dear Miriel and think that more people should also take the time to get to know her. Which after more thought, I just might do!

Power, many have it and everyone wants it. (Superpower that is. smurf power of position, no one cares about that when there are detailed comic books chronicling your secret second life.) Some people go to extremes to get it, like blowing up their own planet and riding the shock wave to a solar system with an energizing yellow sun. That's right, we know what you did Superman and we're pretty disgusted by it. Or how about those Marvel dicks? They all play with radioactive materials like they're cheap dollar store toys, made to be thrown around willy-nilly and not to be handled with care. “With great power comes great responsibility.” Uncle Ben's words are complete gibberish to a comic series made primarily of teenagers with one track minds.

Now, the people of EoFF are power hungry whores, willing to screw or screw over whomever it takes to improve their standing. Just look at the CK competitions, that :bou::bou::bou::bou: gets crazy. Friends become enemies, pointless tasks are doled out, and when it's all over you find out it was all a cruel joke set up by The Man... and I think the Admin's were in on it too.

You're probably all wondering “What do superpowers have to do with Most Powerful?” It has everything to do with Most Powerful! I'm here to show you just how powerful this year's nominees really are...

Del Murder - Sure, Del Murder talks about “Enforcing” this and “Enforcing” that but what he's really doing is overusing a seemingly harmless word to throw you off of the fact that his name has the word “Murder” in it! And “Del” only helps this theory along. He told me it means “of the”. Of the murder? As in a part of the murder!? He's actually the world's best assassin, hiding here until the heat from his last job dies down a bit. I suspect he'll be sore at me for setting his departure from here back a few more years with this, so keep a look out for if I happen to go missing over the next few days.

Evastio - Evastio started his own country a few years back, you won't find it on a map though. It's located in his basement. He's planning a major offense against the internet and has a stockpile of WMD's hidden in a secret compartment behind his mini-fridge. Of course they're makeshift missiles made of empty soda bottles packed with cherry bombs with cardboard fins glued to the sides. So, y'know, nothing too major yet.

fire_of_avalon – foa is awesome! She can literally awesome you to death. You'll have to ask her how she does it, but then you run the risk of it happening to you.

Kawaii Ryukishi - Kishi once turned on a Gamma Ray Creation Station in the hopes of killing his intellectual competition. It didn't really work out the way he planned and he has since gone into hiding. There have been confirmed sightings of a tentacled monster destroying down-town San Francisco, a beast he frequently talked about spawning.

Loony BoB - We're always making jokes about how BoB has all these charts and graphs of “useless” things, but think of it like this: You may have let slip some information that, at the time, may have seemed trivial and unimportant but now could come back to haunt you should someone feel the need to go digging for it, but BoB knows exactly where to find it in his files. Powerful stuff.

Marshall Banana – She has a secret. She actually loves bacon and hates strawberries. It's all a part of an elaborate April Fool's Day joke she's been planning for years. That's a powerful resolve if you ask me.

Psychotic – He's the fun Admin, and if you don't agree you get thrown into the Cage or tortured with set changes and embarrassing custom titles. His one weakness is real life. Outside of the internet he is powerless.

Raistlin – Raistlin powerful? Ahahahahahaha. Hahaha. Ahahaha. Hahahahahahaha. Oh wow. Thank you whoever nominated him. I needed that.

ShlupQuack – Like all great superheroines, Shlup has a gravity defying rack. “So what” you might be saying, “That's no superpower” but you forget her age. You'd be lucky if yours didn't need to be tucked into your pants at 84. She's also not afraid to use her... *ahem* “assets” to get ahead. How else do you think she made Admin.

See what I'm saying? Superpowered! This is the stuff comics are made of! Each of these members are most deserving of this award. They all hold sway with the goings on of the boards. If I were to pick the person that I think would win this award I'd say it would have to be- *shot by Del Murder*

Again with disgraceful mistakes! Meat Puppet deserves low bows and hats taken off for the shy eloquence he donned with this moniker! Simply from the name, we know he is made of meat and this meat is manipulated to perform! Were I not inextricably tied to this name, Meat Puppet II would be my next alias! While other people might find a literal meat puppet disgusting and thus carry that abhorrence to the name, his commentary on the human mindset and focus on physical appearances does not escape me!

On a Final Fantasy forum, perhaps the the biggest faux pas is naming oneself after something in the series (ignore my praise of the cactus earlier)! We all know you like Final Fantasy; you post on a message board about the video game series! As evident as this is, people often decide to mark this obvious interest in a name, and seiferalmasy2 sadly falls into this category! Dare I tell him about my romantic dream where he gets a name change!?

A shod hobo we could forgive, but The Shoeless Hobo,never! In a stellar departure from his namesake, our Hobo clearly uses a computer and most likely wear shoes! Why the deception?! We can only speculate his disgust at seeing homeless people wearing shoes eventually led to a breakdown whilst playing Final Fantasy VII and he began his Internet crusade to de-shoe the wino population! Parade your agenda elsewhere, you hobo-hating, uh, Hobo, like under the freeway or in the boxwoods at Roosevelt Park!

Wronged individuals aside, this crowd of misfits is clearly packing some heat, but which of these hapless misnomers are going to go home with a .gif image of Cid's head?!
