What day will the game become playable?

So the Collecter's Edition is available as of 22nd September, eight days before the official game is released on 30th September. But you get to play six days early. Does this mean the game is first playable on the 24th September?

This is important information for me as I may end up ordering online, and that means I have to pick it up from my local post depot (since I know we won't be home) and that means I might end up missing out on playing on the first day, something I really want to do! But if the game arrives two days early, even at the depot, then I can still get it and be around on time to play the game on "day one"! Mwahaha.

I believe the servers go live on the 22nd for the CE, and pre-order places should be shipping you the game early so that you get it right on that day.

I'm not sure where you got the 6-day thing from.

Yeah, same here. Last time I checked it out, it said 8 days.

Looks like it was an Amazon error that got spread pretty quickly. Amazon have fixed it now, though. If you do a search for "Final Fantasy XIV" "6 days early" then you'll find a bunch of sites mentioning it. :p
