His work is incomparable and brilliant.

Discuss.

Edit:

YouTube - The Flying Car (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eBRHetKH4MQ)

A skit he wrote, if the proof isn't already in all the pudding you have in front of you. It's been cut down a bit and someone has synced it with scenes from Yami No Matsuei. Delightful, delightful.

His movies are extremely formulaic.

Love him. He'll be in Sydney in August doing one of his awesome lecture/talks, and I have my ticket booked and will be flying over there to see it.

Can't. Smurfing. Wait.

I'm going to throw up. In the best way possible. I am in awe of your good fortune.

I'm in awe as well, I had just read an interview he'd done for some web site, and they had the link to View Askew, so I was like "hmm, haven't been there in a while *click*" And he had the tour date on the front page; I was so happy!

Sorry for making you hurl. D:

I like his films and think he's a pretty cool guy. I don't usually admit it though because everyone I've ever met seems to hate him with a passion.

I just recently rewatched Dogma. Great film and I cried a bit at the end with Bartleby and God.

Alanis Morissette IS GOD!

He's made some funny and unique films. I like them. Some people think he's a genius but I wouldn't go that far. Dogma and Chasing Amy are my favorites. :)

He makes good stuff and total junk, like most directors.

He had some good stuff in the early part of his career, but I think he's been on a downward slide since Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back's hilarious last half an hour. And recently he's had to resort to directing rubbish like Cop Out.

I am an unashamed Mallrats fan and I don't care who knows it.

Mallrats is awesome.

Little Girl: Wow! It's a schooner!

Willam: You dumb bastard! That's not a schooner, it's a sailboat!

Little Boy:A schooner is a sailboat, stupidhead!

Willam: Well you know what? THERE IS NO EASTER BUNNY! OVER THERE, THAT'S JUST A GUY IN A SUIT!!

I totally agree. I like some of his films (and others, not so much) but I wouldn't go anywhere near labeling him a prodigy or genius.

Can't say I've liked any of his films.

Have you watched J&SBSB? Or clerks 2? I left the theater going 'okay and?'

I mean they were fun films but they don't go anywhere and weren't as edgy (>implying they ever were) as the first films.

I did enjoy chasing amy a whole lot.
