Apparently onemanga.com is closing in like a weeks time, which is a shame. My roommate finds this sad, and is a bit frustrated because now she won't be able to read the manga she likes (the selection of manga here is not big, and so even if she wanted to buy the stuff she reads, she wouldn't be able to). So I promised her to "look into it", which basically means asking you guys for help!

So, to sum it up: Are there any other manga websites out there like onemanga.com?

Also, feel free to discuss the fact that onemanga.com is closing, and whatnot.

I believe mangafox.com is still running, I could be wrong though.

These sites are a vexed question - I agree that if a manga is licensed it's better for people to buy it but one useful purpose they do have is enabling people to read manga that will probably never see the light of day in English (Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou springs to mind) or ones where the US publisher has pretty much stopped publishing (I'm looking at you Del Rey with Nodame Cantabile! And the now defunct ADV Manga with Cromartie High School). The thing is that even when onemanga closes, there'll still be other sites or people exchanging scanlations in other ways. I suspect like with music the industry is trying to fight a Hydra, lop off one head and another will grow back. I'm not too sure what the best solution for everyone is really.

Its going to feel weird reading Manga online anywhere else. Onemanga is the second site on my favourites list after EoFF and I pretty much go there every day (even when I know the manga I want wont update for a week)

Yea, mangafox is still up. It's where I go mostly. It sucks that onemanga is closing though. They had stuff mangafox didn't. It was always my plan B when looking.

Also charlie, you've read YKK? Good man.

animeA is my alternative to onemanga, though the selection isn't as good (though they have things onemanga doesn't) >_>

All of those sites are simply aggregators for manga scanlations. Which means, they take the work of the various translation groups from their various websites and put them all in one place for you to find. For the most part, they don't 'work' on any of the manga on their site themselves.

Which means, even if the aggregators all get shut down, the various sources who still translate and upload the manga are still there. If you pay attention to the names of the people/groups who translate your manga, you'll be able to find them wherever they end up.

Yeah I heard it was very good, and I wasn't disappointed. The last chapter had me in tears :(

Ah, man. It seems I'll have to track down Bakuman releases the hard way now.

Once you decide what manga to read, if you Google it you'll find at least a couple of places to read it. I can't remember any off the top of my head, but I listed a few in my blog, where I post manga I converted for Nook. I download a lot of my manga from Goldlilys Media Gallery (http://gallery.goldlilys-media.com/)

Onemanga had it like on the same day. Does yours do that too, Shlup?

Mangastream for latest Bleach and other hot mangas!

Other than that it will be Mangafox! It is weird that Onemanga just moved the adult content to their sister site and now they are shutting everything down!

mangafox is my site of choice when it comes to reading scans, but onemanga has been a solid alternative of mine for a long time, so it's a shame to hear that they're closing.

I don't regularly use these sires though. I prefer to buy manga or at least read them in the shop and leave xD

Does anyone know where Bakuman is still being released (scanlated)?

Google? Yes, Google can do that. As in, I haven't found a particular "manga home" yet; I am still mourning OneManga. ;_;
